A very fine antique Vienna style porcelain cabinet plate.
Entitled "Eingeheimer Auftrag", which translates in English as "A Secret Assignment".
Depicted in the central cartouche is an image of a young woman being attended to by a cherub/putti. The woman is seated at the edge of a garden and appears to be making a request of the cherub who is leisurely perched on the rail fence with a pensive look.
Signed to the lower right 'H. Zutzka'.
The rim of the bowl is richly decorated with two-toned raised gold decoration and gold jeweling on a light blue to turquoise ground.

We haven’t had our own plate at dinner for very long. It wasn’t until the middle of the 19th century in Europe that individual dinner plates had become the norm, replacing the platters that diners had shared before them.
