This exceptional antique 19th century Russian silver Torah pointer/yad has a knopped tapering cylindrical form.
The bulbous knops are each plain and unembellished.
The plain tapering handpiece is embellished with applied interlacing designs to the upper portion.
The shaft of this silver Torah pointer has a stranded twist design, to an undulating circular collar style knop.
This lower knop terminates with an impressive hand, with its index finger pointed.

A fantastic quality 19th century Russian Empire period Dore bronze mounted amethyst crystal scalloped rim tazza/cache-pot. The crystal is of a beautiful rich amethyst purple color. The crystal is beautifully hand-cut and shaped with a scalloped rim. The crystal is mounted on an incredible dore bronze base with the finest quality. Rare and exceptional example of early russian Judaica, this torah shield or tas is made From 84 silver, has the marks of the city of saint Petersburg, together with the makers Mark of Michael Karpinsky and the date of 1835, Judaica objects from Russia is very rare, Especially from this early date, saint Petersburg jewish community was very small Because of the Jewish settlement was largely restricted. Under Tsar Alexander II upper Class Jews fitting certain criteria were allowed to live in the city, and many other Jews Who did not fit these categories settled illegally.
This was is decorated with two flanking lions with the two tablets of stone on which the Ten Commandments were engraved on, the 10 commandments are engraved in Hebrew On this example as long as the two words "torah" and "crown" on the two sides.
On the lower part there is the inscription with the donors name which is "Dina Whitenbarch" in Hebrew. the silver work on this was is just exceptional and deep.
The crown on the top of the lions is the Russian crown.
The back part has two welded silver loops used for hanging the shield on the torah.
