Model 2495 created circa 1757.
Kaendler was chief sculptor at Meissen manufactory as from 1742 until the year 1775. He is the most famous modeller Meissen manufactory ever had and created well-known series such as Shepherd Figurines, Comedian's Children, Gardener Children (with Acier), Paris Town Criers (with Reinicke and Meyer), Gallant Figurines, Asian Figurines etc.

Silver spice rack in its color with a heart shaped shape and curved spout to one side that has two hinged lids and three spaces inside (partition above and not below); It is supported by three legs decorated with classicist elements and has, towards the side, a series of fine smooth moldings. The hallmarks are those corresponding to Granada, to date, and to the silversmith Manuel López Portero, who also worked as hallmarks in the city. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver novelty pepper Shaker in the form of a champagne bottle; an addition to our silver cruets/condiments collection.
This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver pepper has a cylindrical shaped form realistically modelled in the form of a champagne bottle.
The lower cylindrical portion of the body is embellished with the contemporary bright cut engraved Roman numerals 'XXIX' - 29.
The pepper is fitted with the original hallmarked push fit cover modelled in the form of a foil capped champagne cork embellished with pierced 'pepper' holes subdivided by an integrated wire muselet/wirehood indentation design.
The underside of this impressive sterling silver pepper bears the retailer's mark 'Jones, London & Paris'.
