The pieces of this exceptional, antique Victorian sterling silver canteen of cutlery for twenty-four persons have been crafted in the Albert pattern. The anterior and posterior surfaces of each rococo inspired, King's shape handle are embellished with scrolling leaf ornamentation. The heel and shoulders of each piece are embellished with further scrolling decoration. The fundamental pieces of this impressive antique London silver service were crafted by William and Elizabeth Eaton, with the sugar sifter, butter knife and pastry fork made by Samuel Hayne & Dudley Cater. These impressive examples of antique silverware are supplied in felt cutlery rolls; which not only protect the items in storage but significantly reduces tarnishing. As is the case with most services made by London silversmiths in the Victorian era, this flatware set is a superior gauge and quality; as to be expected by these renowned silversmiths. Such services, with twenty-four place settings, are becoming increasingly difficult to locate. Condition This antique Albert pattern canteen of cutlery is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of each piece are all clear; the hallmarks are deeply struck due to the exceptional gauge of silver, as to be expected of these makers. An exceptional, fine and impressive, antique William IV English sterling silver cream jug; an addition to our silver teaware collection. This exceptional antique sterling silver cream jug has an baluster shaped form onto a domed pedestal and an octagonal shaped spreading foot. The body of this silver cream jug is embellished with embossed floral ornamentation accented with scrolling leaf designs and panels of scale textures. The decoration to the body incorporates a scroll bordered and features a vacant cartouche to one side. The lower portion of the body encompassed with the contemporary engraved inscription 'Presented by the South Devon Agricultural Society to Richard Anthony for the best managed Farm under 150 acres'. The rim of this 1830s cream jug is embellished with an applied alternating shell decorated border. This fine example of antique silverware is fitted with an impressive cast antique mystical fish decorated handle ornamented with scale decoration. The domed circular portion of the foot is encircled with a band of floral and scrolling leaf decoration. The interior of this antique silver cream jug retains the original gilding. Condition This antique 1830s cream jug is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. The applied and chased decoration is very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the spout have wear in keeping with age and location; the maker’s mark has wear but remains legible. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of antique silverware.
