An exceptional, fine and impressive, rare antique Edwardian English sterling silver and wood bridge marker; an addition to our diverse silverware collection. This exceptional and rare antique Edwardian sterling silver bridge marker has a heart-shaped form. The original carved, stained hard wood base is embellished with an impressive applied hallmarked motif realistically modelled in the form of four splayed playing cards: one of each suit. The heart-shaped base features a handpiece to the upper portion, ornamented with a secondary silver mount displaying an engraved heart encompassed with scrolling leaf decoration. The surface of this exceptional antique example is encompassed with two rows of marker holes, paralleling the shaped outer rim. A magnificent, fine and impressive, large antique Edwardian English sterling silver cup & cover; an addition to our antique presentation silverware collection. This magnificent and large antique Edwardian sterling silver presentation cup and cover has a Campania shaped form onto a circular spreading pedestal foot. The lower bulbous portion of the silver cup is encircled with chased fluted ornamentation. Either side of the plain upper portion of the body of this cup is embellished with an exceptional and large applied ribbon tied laurel branch wreath, replicating the border of a classic cartouche. This impressive Edwardian presentation cup retains the impressive, original hallmarked push fit cover surmounted with an exceptional, fine and impressive cast sterling silver overlapping leaf and bud style finial. The rim of this substantial cover is encompassed with an impressive applied egg and dart decorated border. This antique cup and cover is fitted with two very impressive cast sterling silver handles modelled in the form of conjoined snakes, above a figural mask and Caduceus. The pedestal is encompassed with a shaped alternating leaf decorated knop to the upper portion in junction with the body. The circular domed spreading foot is encircled with a further band of chased fluted ornamentation. Such large examples are becoming increasingly difficult to locate. Caduceus (otherwise known as herald's staff/?????e??? kerukeion) is a staff entwined with two serpents and surmounted by a pair of wings. This staff is carried by Hermes in Greek...

This magnificent antique Edwardian sterling silver bowl has a large Monteith form onto a spreading foot. The body of this antique Edwardian monteith bowl is ornamented with exceptional panels of flat engraved decoration, incorporating dynamic chinoiserie characters amongst foliate and towering structures; it can be determined that such a frieze of figures relates to a historical event or folklore. Each panel is segmented with concave fluted pales to a matte textured plateau. The decoration to the body incorporates a leaf bordered cartouche to one side, displaying a contemporary bright cut engraved coat of arms, all above the motto 'Vix Ea Nostra Voco' - I scarce call these deeds of our ancestors ours*. These heraldic markings are surmounted with the contemporary bright cut engraved crest of on a mount, a hind lodged in front of a hawthorn-tree, ducally gorged and chained*. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver jewelry box; an addition to the ornamental silverware collection This exceptional antique silver jewelry box, in sterling standard, has been modelled in the form of a dressing table. The surface of this Edwardian jewelry box is plain and embellished with two applied sterling silver balls to the anterior convex arched surface, replicating the details of the draw handles. The original hallmarked hinged cover is plain and parallels the shape of the body, opening to reveal the original segmented velvet interior. The weighted base of this exceptional antique box retains the original leatherette covering to the underside. The box is supported by four subtly tapering pillar style legs Note: The majority of such boxes have a wood lining to the interior; it is a sign of quality when boxes have unlined interiors in addition to a solid silver cover. Condition This antique silver box is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. The box has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. The original interior and leatherette covering have wear in keeping with age and use. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear.
