This magnificent, fine and impressive antique Victorian sterling silver and mother of pearl dessert service consists of eighteen knives and eighteen forks. The blades of the Victorian knives have a rounded form and the forks each have four tines/prongs. The surface of each knife blade and drop of each fork is embellished with an impressive contemporary bright cut engraved crest of on a mural crown with a heron's head erased. Each piece of this antique silver dessert service is fitted with the original and impressive, large tapering mother of pearl handle. The knives and forks retain the original sterling silver ferrules ornamented with embossed leaf ornamentation. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver mustard pot has a plain cylindrical form. The body of the mustard pot is embellished with pierced interlacing scrolling leaf designs. The upper and lower rim of this sterling mustard pot is ornamented with an applied bead decorated border. This fine mustard pot retains the original hallmarked hinged domed cover surmounted with an impressive interlacing tri-lobed thumbpiece. This antique piece is fitted with an opposing scroll handle ornamented with a plain scrolling thumbpiece. The mustard pot retains the original removable blue glass liner. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the body and part hallmarks to the interior of cover are all very clear; the maker's mark to the interior of the cover have wear in keeping with age.
