Several features make this quilt quite unusual. Most obvious is the Orange Peel pattern that is not often seen. It is set within concentric frames that are not one hundred percent consistent in terms of colors but they blend well together. Most unusual is the center applique. It is a takeoff of the overall Orange Peel pattern but with the addition of arms that look like a thistle. This appears to be an original design.
