James Bond Goldfinger Original Vintage British Quad Movie Poster, 1964
Located in Devon, GB
Considered the quintessential and definitive Bond film, the third instalment in EON Productions' James Bond series set the template for many of the subsequent films, with its tongue in cheek humour, extensive use of gadgets and technology and multiple foreign locations. The first Bond blockbuster, 1964's 'Goldfinger' was also the first Bond film to utilise a standalone pre-credits sequence, the first to employ a pop star to sing the theme song and the first to win an Academy Award. The plot saw 007 uncover a plot to contaminate the United States gold reserve at Fort Knox while investigating the smuggling activities of powerful gold magnate Auric Goldfinger. The film's lasting image is of the gold-painted girl, featured here on the sought after 'Style A' British Quad poster for the original UK release in 1964. Robert Brownjohn...

Boxing Carpet, Randolph Turpin, Middleweight Champion of the World, Sugar Ray
Located in Oxfordshire, GB
A large vintage Randolph Turpin carpet. A wonderful impressive carpet made for the British boxer Randolph Turpin (nick named 'The Leamington Licker'). The carpet measuring nearly 3 meters by 4 meters was made by a life long friend, Mr Dennis Quayle, and would make a remarkable wall hanging. Quayle owned a high quality furniture store in Birmingham and supplied amongst other furnishings, high quality handmade carpets. Following Turpin’s triumph over Sugar Ray Robinson to win the world title in 1951, Mr Quayle had the carpet made as a gift for Turpin. Later in Turpin’s life when in trouble, Quayle bought back the carpet in order to help him financially, with the carpet remaining in the Quayle family ever since. Randolph Turpin is one of Britain’s greatest sportsmen who plied his trade with courage, honor and skill and gave Britain one of its best nights in a boxing ring. As a 33-1 underdog Turpin humbled the greatest fighter the world had seen, Sugar Ray Robinson, at Earls Court in London to become Middleweight Champion of the World. Sugar Ray was at his peak and the fight was the culmination of the flamboyant champion’s famous tour of Europe. Unable to cope with Turpin’s long reach and unusual wide stance the American struggled to land punches and Turpin’s strength inside was too much and he took the win on points after 15 rounds. He would lose the belt in a rematch 64 days later but Turpin’s achievement is a remarkable one which crowns a distinguished boxing career, he was later inducted into the International Boxing Hall Of Fame in 2001. Randolph Turpin's titles:- British Middleweight 17th Oct 1950 European Middleweight 27th Feb 1951 World Middleweight 10th July 1951 Commonwealth Middleweight 2nd Oct 1952 Won the British Light...

Snooker billlard pool table victorian complete set circa 1890 free shipping
By Burroughes Watts
Located in Radstock, GB
FREE SHIPPING UK AND EUROPE This full-sized antique billiard or snooker table, crafted from solid English oak circa 1890, boasts exquisite detailing. It stands proudly on eight finely carved column legs, each adorned with decorative panels and motifs. The table features patented steel vacuum cushions, ensuring optimal playability, and is enhanced by friezes with roundel fittings. Accompanying the table is a matching scoring cabinet and a freestanding revolving cue stand. It is exceptionally rare to find a complete set like this, with all original accessories intact. The quality of the timber is remarkable, showcasing solid English oak throughout. This piece was likely commissioned for a grand county house of its era, making it a truly special find. English oak refers to a species of oak native to the British Isles, scientifically known as Quercus robur. It's highly valued for its durability, strength, and beautiful grain patterns. The wood has a light to medium brown colour, often with a slightly reddish or golden hue, and it darkens over time, developing a rich patina. In furniture making, English oak is prized for its ability to age gracefully and its resistance to wear and tear, making it ideal for creating long-lasting, sturdy pieces like antique billiard tables...
