Luxury pillow created from an exquisite piece of vintage kilim rug combined with Irish Linen by Irish designer Katie Larmour. Unique and one-of-a-kind.
In rich, warm, dramatic colours of orange, rust, peach, coral, red, blush and soft black. Featuring geometric shapes and stylised, ornamental pegasus - a mythical winged divine horse from Greek mythology.
Each cushion is constructed in Ireland.
Filled with a new, custom-made, plush duck feather insert, lined in organic cotton, and finished with a concealed zip.
Backed in new natural undyed Irish linen on the reverse.
Irish Linen is highly regarded worldwide, known since the turn-of-the-century as ‘white gold’ and the ultimate ‘aristocrat of textiles’.
Katie Larmour is an associate member of The Irish Linen Guild and highlighted as a ‘recommended purveyor of Irish Linen goods’ by the guild on their official website.
Katie is an ambassador The European Confederation of Flax and Hemp (CELC).
Katie Larmour’s Studio are renowned for their high end creations.

The ‘crème de la crème’ of scarves, this beauty is a one-of-a-kind custom made luxury cushion (pillow) from an exquisite and rare vintage silk mythological themed Hermes fashion scarf designed by Philippe Ledoux, who has created many beautiful ‘carrés' for the Maison Hermes. First issued in 1964 the ‘Cosmos’ print has been re-issued several times. Here it is in a harmonious colour way of varying shades of blue crowned with illustrations in lavish antique gold. The mythological design depicts Phoebus, also known as Apollo, the god of sun and light, gallantly riding his chariot across the sky, making the sun rise and set across the universe. In all four corners of this print, he is seen charging from the heavens, from two different angles of perspective, with his chariot and horses galloping on a seemingly weightless cloud upon elegant scrolling golden leaves. The busy picture features ornamental details and architectural Renaissance motifs, spiralling and curling, connected by intricate and interlacing decorative ribbons and topped with striking stars. Scattered across the surface are smaller subtle twinkling stars adding to the magic and alluding to a midnight theme. Note the iconic ‘Hermes Paris’ proudly running long the bottom centre also in gold, the artist’s signature ‘Ledoux’ nearby on the bottom right hadn’t corner, and another ‘C Hermes’ in the top right hand corner, the ‘C’ for copyright being found on Hermes earlier...

The ‘crème de la crème’ of scarves, this beauty is a one-of-a-kind luxury cushion (pillow) created from an exquisite vintage silk Hermes fashion scarf in their festive ‘Les Rubans Du Cheval’ equestrian pattern by Joachim Metz in 1988. A variety of elaborate ribbon rosettes in vibrant, colourful hues - an ornament made of pleated material, gathered so as to resemble a rose and worn as a decorative badge to show ranking in a competition.
The French company began in 1837 producing superior quality leather goods, harnesses and saddles, which makes sense that 100 years later the main theme on their luxury scarves is equestrian. Hermes scarves, known as ‘carre’ (squares), have become a symbol of French chic and are a highly desirable object across the globe that still continues to delight. Favoured by the ‘jet-setters’ of the 50s and 60s and gaining iconic status by Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and this particular elegant design even worn by Queen Elizabeth II. The name of the print along with the brand’s signature proudly features in the centre. The attractive equestrian design is a delicately detailed illustration of bridal equipment with buckles, leather straps, feminine mermaids holding up functional hoops and lions holding crests on other sections of the metal hardware adorning the elaborate piece. It features a display of two equestrian horse bride dressings symmetrical like a mirror image of each other. In a dramatic, busy picture of multicoloured ribbon colour way on a quality sumptuous twill silk with a beautiful texture. It was made using the ‘Lyonnaise technique’ silk screen process with each of it’s 13 frames traditional laid one by one by hand (the more complex patterns can go out to 42). Before being carefully unravelled to create our cushion, the edge was delicately hand rolled and hemmed, a distinctive French style finish of all Hermes scarves. This is a luxury box set of artisan made decorative ornaments created with authentic Irish Linen, exclusive to 1stdibs. They are special because they are limited editions from a beautiful mixture of vintage and deadstock fabric in small batches (some even one-of-a-kind) embellished with exquisite copper embroidery and dainty beading.
These novelty ornaments are a unique and quirky gift, or a treat to oneself. They are particularly suitable for the holiday season and the ultimate Christmas tree decorations. They are collectible and can be kept as heirlooms.
Katie Larmour is an acclaimed Northern Irish designer with a studio based in her hometown of Belfast. Known for heritage textiles, her signature use of Irish Linen and original designs have seen her brand make waves in Europe and beyond.
The fabric is 100% pure Irish Linen from a mixture of sustainable sources - vintage, local mill deadstock rolls from one of the last remaining linen mills still active in Ireland today, repurposed antique tablecloths, and off cuts from our own cushion making. As an associate member of the Irish Linen Guild, Katie Larmour Design is listed on their official website as a ‘certified “trusted and recommended” purveyor of Irish Linen goods’. Katie was invited to be an ambassador for The European Confederation of Flax and Hemp (CELC) in 2021.

Use:
Our ornament can be used simply as a trinket, hung on a Christmas tree, from twigs in an Easter vase, as tablescaping display centrepieces, wedding favours, and look wonderful attached to the key of an antique drawer or bathroom cabinet and even from the furniture of a window.
Care:
Decoration only. Does not function as a bag. Not a toy. Do not eat. Do not place near a naked flame.
Condition:
Each individual item is handmade using traditional artisan tools and skills, this is reflected in the pieces. Although constructed with care and precision, no two pieces are exactly the same, they are rustic in style and look and that is part of their charm and character. Both the fabric or beading may show signs of wear, as a portion of our materials are recycled. Any pre-loved or vintage linen used may have slight marks or patchiness to it, this is to be expected. Some of the deadstock cloth comes in unused rolls and is spotless. The items in the listing are from a mix of fabric sources. A portion of the pearl beads are reclaimed and may show signs of wear and tear including scratches.
