The Charles London 1947 Pocket Petrol Lighter Guilloche Plated Sterling Silver
Located in Miami, FL
The Charles petrol lighter designed by Meyer Maximilian Levene An exceptional and rare silver-plated 'The Charles' petrol pocket lighter stamped 'The Charles Lighter', made in London England, back in the 1947. It was rafted with slim rectangular form, decorated with engine-turned casing, double entry hinged lids with innovative internal mechanical features, including a revolving flint tube to provide even wear to the flint, and a rear barrel containing spare flint chambers so that semi-automatic loading of the spare flint can be undertaken. The Charles Lighter has an extremely complicated mechanism. The flint rotates while grinded by the friction wheel. Also interesting is the revolving magazine for spare flints. A fine example of complete over-engineering. This was made only for a very short period and was patented by Meyer Maximilian Levene in 1949. Weight: 70.50 Grams, (45.19 Dwt). Measurements: 48 mm by 43 mm by 12 mm (1.89 x 1.69 x 0.77 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark and signed in full, "THE CHARLES LIGHTER MADE IN ENGLAND BRITISH & DOMINION & FOREIGN PAT GRANTED.". Mid-Century Modern Cabinet Console Record Player attributed to Ico Parisi design
Located in Vigonza, Padua
This rare 1940s record player cabinet by LESA (Laboratori Elettrotecnici Società Anonima), Milan, represents a refined fusion of Italian craftsmanship and early modernist design. The piece features: A solid wood frame veneered in exquisite walnut burl, with striking natural grain patterns that add depth and character. Ebonized trim that highlights the clean geometry and subtle curves of the cabinet. Slender, tapered legs typical of Italian furniture design of the period, lending the piece a light, elegant stance. A functional 78 rpm turntable integrated into the cabinet, with original metal and bakelite components. The mechanism is in working condition. A drop-front door that conceals the turntable when closed, preserving the cabinet’s sleek aesthetic. A lower shelf suitable for storing records or accessories. LESA, founded in 1929 in Milan, was a leading Italian producer of phonographs, radios and hi-fi components. The company was known for combining technical innovation with stylish furniture integration, making pieces like this a hallmark of mid-century Italian domestic design. 🌟 Why acquire this piece Functional art: This cabinet is not only a piece of furniture, but also a working vintage audio device, providing authentic 78 rpm playback in its original form. Historical value: An original example of LESA’s craftsmanship from the 1940s — a brand that was once a market leader in Italian hi-fi. Aesthetic appeal: The combination of walnut burl, ebonized details and streamlined form makes it a perfect fit for Art Deco, mid-century modern, or eclectic interiors. Conversation piece: Its rare combination of furniture and audio technology will attract attention and admiration in any setting. Investment: Well-preserved vintage audio furniture by noted manufacturers is increasingly sought-after by collectors and interior designers. Cabinet Console of the 1940s in burr walnut and walnut flame applied veneered. Cabinet with two shelves, the upper with central flap drawer with internal turntable Record...

D-Day Flag, 1940s, one of the first American flags flown on June 6th, 1944.
Located in London, GB
An original, battle -scarred, 48 -star US flag from the minesweeper USS YMS -381, one of the first boats to start Operation Neptune. This flag is one of the rarest items from D -Day to ever surface. As the earliest flag from D -Day, it would have been one of the very first the Germans saw on that momentous day, signalling the impending invasion. Uniquely, this flag comes with provenance that directly links it back to the Normandy Beaches, supported by a customs slip and an address label to New York City. What makes this flag even more extraordinary is its completeness - many D -Day flags have been found in tatters, yet this one remains intact, representing the start of D -Day in its entirety. No flag earlier in the mission is likely to surface, making this one of the most historic flags to emerge from this pivotal moment in history and the earliest flag from D-Day a collector could have. More than just a symbol, this flag embodies the courage and sacrifice of the D-Day mission - an irreplaceable artifact of history Flown on USS-YMS-381, one of the first vessels to enter the assault channels at Utah Beach on D-Day, this battle-worn, 48-star U.S. flag is a rare and significant piece of military history. Its provenance sets it apart: it is the earliest known American flag from D-Day to ever surface, and uniquely, it is the only flag flown from a minesweeper vessel to ever surface for sale. This makes it an artifact unlike any other, with historical weight far beyond its fabric. The flag comes with customs documentation that traces its origin directly to the Normandy beaches, where Captain William Beckham sent it home in September 1944. This direct link to the events of June 6, 1944—when the flag was among the first to be seen by German forces—is confirmed through careful research and verification. As one of the first flags to fly on the French coast during the D-Day landings, it was part of the early waves of vessels involved in Operation Neptune, the maritime portion of the broader Operation Overlord. In addition to its extraordinary provenance, this flag is in remarkable condition for its age and use. With metal grommets and a 30-inch masthead, the flag bears the faintly visible stamp “US Ensign,” further confirming its military authenticity. It was mailed back to a recipient in Tarrytown, NY, in September 1944, accompanied by its original signed U.S. Customs Declaration...
