A wonderfully glazed, beautifully crafted, and classically shaped vase/vessel by renowned Canadian master potter Brother Thomas Bezanson (1929-2007).
Brother Thomas studied design at Nova Scotia College in the late 40s and early 50s, It was during this time that he discovered a love for the ceramic art form. In 1959 he became a monk and joined the Weston Priory, Vermont, a community of Benedictine men. Here he continued his art while also pursuing a degree in philosophy. In 1978 he traveled to Japan where he met and worked with five Japanese potters, designated “Living National Treasures” by the Japanese government. These particular artists and the time spent with them deeply influenced his work and his thought. In 1985, he became artist-in-residence at Mount Saint Benedict Monastery in Erie, Pennsylvania, where worked until his death in 2007. Brother Thomas was universally known and esteemed for his mastery of complex glazes and his adaptation and application of traditional Chinese and Japanese pottery methods and materials.
The vase features a sumptuous green glaze that absolutely radiates in the light.
The work is signed by Brother Thomas with his traditional signature and cipher.
A special piece. Would be a great addition to any Brother Thomas or Mid-Century pottery/ceramics collection or make for an eye catching stand alone accent work in about any setting.

Fantastic vintage Modern to Postmodern maple pedestal base round coffee table with blue laminate inlaid top designed by Michael Graves for Craftwood a Division of Sonnenberg Ind. Ltd. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, it has all been refinished except for the cylinder pedestal. The wood base was repaired and filled prior to refinishing & there were little nicks in the laminate that were filled & colored. Well, MY GOODNESS… what have we here??? WOW!!!! This is a GORGEOUS vintage Modern to Postmodern round coffee table with a cylindrical maple pedestal base and a lovely blue laminate inlaid top designed by Michael Graves for Craftwood a Division of Sonnenberg Ind. Ltd. It was specified by Michael Graves who redesigned the Topeka Public Library in 1998. The rest of the project’s furniture for the 100,000 square foot addition specified by him as well. He collaborated with several celebrity designers and created some of the most avant-garde and high style furniture in the 1980’s. SUPER COOL!!!! In addition to being great looking… it is very sturdy. The construction method of this table is celebrated with a beautiful cylindrical pedestal perched upon a round maple base and gorgeous round tabletop featuring a fabulous blue laminate inlaid surface surrounded by a marvelous maple edge & lower apron. INCREDIBLE!!!! It would be fabulous in a living or family room surrounded by a pair of chairs or in front of your sofa. It could also be utilized as a wonderful accent, side, or end table. It’s the perfect spot to set a cup of coffee or a cocktail, hold a stack of books in your sitting room, or host an awesome sculpture or wonderful table lamp in the entry or hall. There you have it… magnificent Modern to Postmodern style, versatility, and an iconic reputation to boot. This coffee table is EXACTLY what the designer ordered!

An Incredible, Large, and Rare Lapidary Sculpture of a Hand-Carved and Hand-Polished Semi-Precious Citrine Falcon Mounted on a Large Natural Specimen 'McEarl' Rock Crystal Base with a 18K Gold Beak and 18K Gold Legs and Talons, Signed by Zadora and dated 1994. This extraordinary near flawless specimen of hand-carved and hand-polished citrine is stunning. The large bird is carved from one giant piece of semi-precious citrine stone and conveys a highly detailed appearance with each section of the feathers hand-etched and hand-carved to appear as life-like as possible. The eyes are an impressive emerald-green color and made up of tsavorite cabochons. The magnificent beak, legs, and talons are made of 18K solid gold' each gorgeously shiny or burnished to represent how a life-like falcon would be. Even the inside rim of the eyes are set in 18K solid gold. The base is a stunning giant piece of natural rock crystal, most probably mined from the famous 'McEarl' rock crystal mine in Arkansas. Hex Diamond Table in White Oak and Aluminum by Simon Johns

The hex diamond table’s slight angles focus guests around a middle point that can accommodate a centerpiece. The traditional circular approach to seating guests is deconstructed to encourage more dynamic exchanges between people. The surface plays tribute to the approximate geometries of stones, reminiscent of, but not quite a hexagon. The central base is equally asymmetrical, made up of an assembly of soft rectangular columns of different dimensions, congregating, as do the unique individuals around the table. The base is offered in all oak or oak and aluminum. The aluminum is hand polished to a satin finish, wrapped around and supported by a thick plywood form. This table is perfect for 3-6 people.
*Also available in oblong shapes, at 82, 95 and 105" in length. Custom lengths also available upon request.
The Diamond collection congregates similar but unique forms into constructions that celebrate subtle differences. There is intent and organization in the results, but also a desire for some freedom from symmetry or rigid guidelines. Composed of different tables and soon a sideboard, this collection uses primarily white oak, either alone, or paired with aluminum, hand polished to a satin finish.
