Vintage French Aubusson hand-knotted runner circa the early 1900s. The Aubusson runner has a classic floral design pattern set on a brilliant red color background with floral designs in turquoise, red, pink, blue, cream, and other wonderful colors. The runner has a floral design in three vertical columns each in a rich saffron yellow color background separated by a rich red column containing floral designs. The design of this French runner is reminiscent of the Persian “Gol Farang” or the French Aubusson and Savonnerie carpets. The flower accent colors include turquoise, yellow, ivory, and pink.
