De Sede DS 615/93A Large Dining Table in Metal Brass Top by Mario Ferrarini
By Mario Ferrarini, De Sede
Located in Brooklyn, NY
Conical table leg seeks guests. One of the great passions of our master craftsmen is to experiment with leather as a material, always treading new paths. In the case of DS-615, they deserve all the accolades: they managed to take the idea of bringing our Artisano leather to the table and turn this into a reality. A concealed metal construction serves as a stabile support for the table leg, to which four pieces of leather in the form of a cone are applied with a strap seam. Certainly, you are familiar with the spinning dances of the dervishes in their long skirts. When they celebrate their centuries-old ritual in a trance, their generous movements create a particularly impressive motif that Italian designer Mario Ferrarini could never forget. The whirling dervishes provided the inspiration for a conical table leg in which four pieces of Artisano leather are joined by hand with carefully applied cross stitching – the strong, shaping features of this leather are ideal for the DS 615 table series – whether as an exclusive conference table or as an eye-catcher in a stylish dining room: the table invites people to discuss, laugh, consult, eat or linger – there’s never a square moment! Additional information: Material: Metal brass top with cigarro leather Base Characteristics Artisano: Type: Core leather Thickness: 2,4 - 2,6 mm Characteristics: Strong, firm and durable. The saddle leather is uniquely created by nature with its pattern of pores, grain and surface structure. Its qualities make it suitable for compact seating pieces or backrests as well as smooth surfaces such as bodies and sides. Top characteristics Tela: The surfaces of Tela are coated with mixtures of stone or metal. Due to an intelligent and meticulously designed mix of materials the finished table tops function as a canvas to play on. Dimensions: 160 W x 74 H Available in other base upholstery options: Naturale, fango, black Available in other top options: Metal iron, marble Carrara, stone coral, stone jade, stone lapislazuli, marble beligan blue Available in other stone options: Calacatta oro, star dust, sahara noir, rosso lepanto, verde guatemala, green botanic, beola(indoor/semi-outdoor), labrador antique...

De Sede DS-196 Side Table with Cherrywood Top Metal Base by Gordon Guillaumier
By Gordon Guillaumier, De Sede
Located in Brooklyn, NY
Stylish simplicity. Despite its material mix of metal and wood or marble, the DS-196 side table demonstrates just how stylish simplicity can be. In its role as an unpretentious sidekick, it comes across as reticent where modesty is called for – or, quite the contrary, as a skillful eye-catcher brimming with individuality that can assert itself in any room. That is why this table can be combined with any style. Growing up, as Gordon Guillaumier did, on a Mediterranean island, one never forgets the calm of the water, the scent of vastness and the stories of the locals for as long as one may live: in his work for De Sede, the Maltese recalled the historic sites of Romans, Moors, French and the Order of St.John on the archipelago between Sicily and the coast of North Africa. The result of this melting pot of memories is the image of a rocky cliff that the designer lifts up from the watery depths: a single-legged, linearly designed leg holds a tabletop that fulfills its Mission in a manner that is as filigree as it is confident: here I am in a seemingly minor role, and ready for anything big that might come along. Additional information: Material: Wood, metal Top: Cherrywood Characteristics: Wood is a precious raw material, and we purchase it only from suppliers that have been selected according to strict criteria. In our collection, we offer a wide range of wood types ranging from oak to American walnut to cherry. Dimensions: 45 W x 40 D x 55 H cm Available in other upholstery options: Calacatta Oro, Star Dust, Sahara Noir, Rosso Lepanto, Verde Guatemala, Green Botanic, Beola (Indoor / Semi-outdoor), Labrador antique...

De Sede HE-116 Table in Wood by Hans Eichenberger
By Hans Eichenberger, De Sede
Located in Brooklyn, NY
Furniture like the HE-116 has its origin in the Bauhaus workshops in Weimar, which were founded by Walter Gropius in 1919. The highest premise of Bauhaus design is the combination of Art & Crafts. To this day, the Bauhaus is considered the home of the avant-garde of classical modernism. The Swiss interior architect and designer Hans Eichenberger followed this straightforward, modern style throughout his artistic life. Eichenberger was one of the co-founders of Swiss design. The HE-116 tables also stem from this legacy. Straight-line legs made of tubular steel support a simple wooden top, the symbiosis of art and craftsmanship succeeds here par excellence. More in demand than ever, tubular steel furniture can now be artistically integrated into any atmosphere. It is the clear, simple but at the same time highly appealing design language which rightly gives the HE-116 a modern objectivity. Additional information: Material: Wood Category: Light oak Thickness 20 mm Characteristics: Wood is a precious raw material, and we purchase it only from suppliers that have been selected according to strict criteria. In our collection, we offer a wide range of wood types ranging from oak to American walnut to multilayer plate.
