This is an exceptional brooch, created by the iconic jewelry house of Cartier, back in the 1970. This brooch was carefully sculpted in three dimensions in the shape of a mythical dragon. Has been crafted with spiky patterns in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with highly textured finish. It is embellished with four natural earth mined gemstones, such rubies and emeralds. It is fitted at the reverse, with a hinged pin bar and a mechanical lock to wear as a brooch. This is a great statement piece of jewelry and we are sure will stimulate great conversations. This mythical animal can be exhibited as a sculpture, since stand alone in their claws.
The Dragon & His Year
This mythical animal symbolizes power, good fortune, and strength and is associated with auspicious traits like intelligence, ambition and charisma. Historically linked with imperial power, Chinese emperors considered themselves descendants of dragons, emphasizing the dragon's esteemed position. The Year of the Dragon holds immense significance in the Chinese zodiac, repeating every 12 years. And this year’s Chinese Lunar New Year, occurring Feb. 10, follows the Year of the Rabbit, with Dragon. In contrast to the other eleven animal signs (Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig) in the Chinese zodiac, Dragon is the only legendary creature. Historically linked with imperial power, Chinese emperors considered themselves descendants of dragons, emphasizing the dragon’s esteemed position. European legends portray dragons as demonic, malevolent beings guarding treasures to be conquered by heroic kings. The persistent malevolent connotations of the dragon in Western cultures can be directly attributed to the influence of early Christianity, where the dragon and its serpentine relations were often regarded as stand-ins for the devil. This is certified to be natural jadeite jade. 99% of jade with this imperial green color and transparency are treated and enhanced one way or another. But this one is certified all natural! The very versatile pendant / brooch is set in 18k white gold. The dragonfly has colorful enameled wings, there are also natural round brilliant diamonds and ruby eyes and tail. The center imperial jade cabochon is a pure beauty! The center jadeite measures about 10.3mm x 9.11mm. Throughout the brooch are more bright green natural jades and Burma rubies. There is an estimated 0.15cts of round brilliant diamonds in this setting. Natural un-treated imperial bright green jades of this quality are rare and highly sort after. This Jade dragonfly is eye catching and mesmerizing. The brooch is very noticeable, it glows with excellent translucency. You can see this from far away! Swedish 1960s Sterling Poured Glass Signed Tennesmed Stigbert Geometric Brooch

Made in 1962 by Swedish Rune Tennesmed, this modern minimal sterling silver geometric brooch features a faux ruby poured-glass red cabochon, concave sheet metal, and openwork that forms two corners of the two-tier triangular brooch. This simple abstract design is characteristic of the rounded geometric shapes that framed his silvery pieces, while his early work sometimes included a pop of brightly colored glass.
Tennesmed (1929-2011) was a 20th-century studio metalsmith, who changed his given name Carlsson to reflect his craft and his business name, which means "pewtersmith" in Swedish. This unusually elegant and sleek piece was made for Scandinavian Atelje Stigbert, which was recognized for producing modern jewelry designs in sterling silver and gold. The brooch was likely commissioned by the Stigbert workshop founder Stig Engelbert who died in 1962, before his artisan sons evolved the family business to be known as Engelbert.
