This amazing watch is still in its original box and has never even been serviced (that means it must be serviced if you want to wear it). Everything is original on this watch including the spring bars and strap. The guarantee paper is in the box but it has the wrong number on it. I suspect that is maybe why it was never sold. The correct paper likely was sold with another watch and when the jeweler realized it, it was to late and could not sell the second one. If you are collecting new old stock watches...

This is a rare model by the legendary company and this one was produced just after Hamilton purchased the renowned house.
The watch shape called a Tortue, or Tortoise was an original design by Louis Cartier. He based it on Tortoises he saw holding up columns in a Greek Temple that was 3000 years old. The Tortue is still in the Cartier line today. Cartier was one of the first designers to "stylize" basic things around him. He looked at them and re-interpreted them by exaggeration, extension and "stylization."
