Minimalist Geometric Abstract Relief in Tonal Whites by Dutch Artist
Located in AMSTERDAM, NL
Expressive abstract relief in white by Dutch artist Henk van Putten (1936-2019) Van Putten called himself a constructivist in the tradition of Vladimir Tatlin, with whom he shared not only aesthetic principles but also social commitment. For example, almost everything he made in 3D is made up of several parts; glued, welded or screwed together. In his paintings, which he often made prior to the 3D version, he even painted the seams where they would appear in the later work. Van Putten’s work, although easily recognisable, shows a clear affinity with artists he admires such as André Volten, Gerrit Rietveld and more generally with ‘De Stijl’. Yet he made no contact with them; he felt much more like a kindred spirit of German artists, especially the ZERO movement whose members, like himself, were strongly involved in society. He befriends people like Egon Eppich and Hap Grieshaber...

Vintage Geometric Composition by Waldo Balart, Lithograph
Located in AMSTERDAM, NH
Geometric composition signed by Waldo Balart (61 x 73cm), 1989, lithograph. Balart often works at the intersection of physics and art. In his series "Structure of Light," Balart for example dissects the light and various colours. "Dessarollo de cel" means development of a cel. Waldo Balart was born in Cuba and currently resides in Madrid, Spain. Balart studied political science and economics in Havana before moving to New York, where he pursued an art education at the Museum of Modern Art. His works are included in the permanent collections of institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art, Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid and the Mondriaanhuis in the Netherlands. Waldo Balart is an artist best known for his affiliation with the Concrete Art movement, and his singular purpose to create a formal visual language rooted in abstraction, concerned with color, planes, space, and order. Balart — who studied political science and economics and used to be an accountant — began to create work as a hobbyist painter. In 1959, he moved to New York to pursue studies in art and became acquainted with the art community there, which would be immensely influential for Balart’s developing style. He was particularly inspired by the work of Josef Albers, who would introduce Balart to the Bauhaus movement. Balart also looked toward Kasmir Malevich and Piet Mondriaan...

Erasmus Bernhard van Dulmen Krumpelman (1897–1987) was a Dutch painter known for his impressionistic and later more expressive style. Born in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, he moved with his family to Amsterdam shortly after his birth. He initially attended the Barlaeus Gymnasium and then studied at the Hendrik de Keyserschool, though he was expelled due to absenteeism. He later completed his state exam in drawing at the Rijksnormaalschool in 1914. Meg den Hartog, Reflection (2017)
Located in AMSTELVEEN, NL
Meg den Hartog (b. December 30, 1952) is a Dutch painter based in Houten, known for her romantic-realistic style and exceptional attention to detail. Growing up in a creative family, Meg was exposed to the world of art from a young age. After studying under Poen de Wijs from 2005 to 2014, Meg mastered the "stricheltechnik" technique—a method of building up layers with fine strokes to create highly realistic imagery. While de Wijs focused on magical realism, Meg developed her own style, emphasizing the romantic realism...
