Lapis 286 - white 3D abstract floral geometric ceramic composition
By Marie Laforey
Located in New York, NY
Marie Laforey is a self-taught artist based in New York, US who maintains a sustainable art practice using primarily organic material. Laforey enjoys the tactility of working with organic mediums and learning how to craft preserved moss, clay, feathers and other natural elements into beautiful abstract compositions. Primarily inspired by nature, repetition, patterns, texture and geometry are essential elements that are omnipresent in her works. About Lapis and Flos series: Laforey recent ceramic works are unique pieces that alter in patterns to give an illusion of movement and depth by using clay’s potential for building sculptural dimension. The repetitive use of a unique element, the circle is centered to her work. The circle has often been associated with the female and to Mother Earth. It has no beginning and no end, it is the whole, the essence of things. It symbolizes the ongoing energy found in nature. Laforey’s Lapis mural ceramic series...

Leonard Baskin (1922-2000) Fruitfulness From Permanence signed, edition 3/8 Bronze, 1967 19.5 X 16 X 1.5 inches The inspiration for this work was a Bernini sculpture Elephant Carrying Obelisk, a 17th century commission outside an ancient temple dedicated to Minerva the goddess of wisdom. The archive of his work at the Gehenna Press was acquired by the Bodleian Library at Oxford, England, in 2009. The McMaster Museum of Art in Hamilton, Ontario owns over 200 of his works (some religious and biblical), most of which were donated by his brother Rabbi Bernard Baskin. Margins Of Matter, Abstract Mixed-Media Sculpture Wall Mounted, 7.5 x 7 x 2 in.
By Lisa Pressman
Located in New York, NY
SIGNED ON BACK. Lisa Pressman’s Shape of Memory series transforms cardboard, thread, smoke, and Letraset into evocative wall-mounted works that recall ancient relics or worn book covers. Each shaped panel floats about an inch off the wall, often casting glowing, colored shadows from painted backs that shift with the light. Stitched seams and weathered surfaces suggest scars, resilience, and the passage of time, resonating as personal artifacts of memory and healing. Known for her abstract paintings in oil, encaustic, and mixed media, Pressman’s oeuvre consistently explores impermanence and transformation. With their sculptural presence and luminous effects, these intimate objects blur painting...

Eugene Caples "Bronze Sculpture I" Abstract Bronze Sculpture
By Eugene Caples
Located in Detroit, MI
This small exquisite "Bronze Sculpture I" is in excellent condition and a perfect example of Eugene Caples craftsmanship. Although it is mainly abstract, there are bits that look figurative either an arm or a leg attempting to emerge from a fold or attempting to hold a pose such as in yoga. It cries out to be touched and held, looked at and caressed. The beautiful patina on the surface gives voice to the many hands that have done these things. Eugene Caples is a designer and craftsman who worked in Kansas City in the 1960s and later through the early 21st century. He attended the Kansas City Art Institute, earning his Bachelors of Fine Arts in Industrial Design in 1959. In 1963 he was accepted to Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. The Cranbrook Academy of Art was designed by architect and faculty member, Eliel Saarinen who collaborated with Charles and Ray Eames on chair and furniture design. Numerous creative artists are alumni of Cranbrook and include: Harry Bertoia, Florence Knoll, Jack Lenor Larsen, Donald Lipski, Duane Hanson, Nick Cave, Hani Rashid, George Nelson, Urban Jupena (Nationally recognized fiber artist), Artis Lane (the first African-American artist to have her sculpture, "Sojourner Truth," commissioned for the Emancipation Hall in the Capital Visitor Center in Washington DC), Cory Puhlman (televised Pastry Chef extraordinaire), Thom O’Connor (Lithographs), and Paul Evans (Created Brutalist-inspired sculpted metal furnishings.) I Forgot How Beautiful You Are
By Tracey Emin
Located in Miami, FL
racey Emin, in full Tracey Karima Emin, (born July 3, 1963, Croyden, Greater London, England), British artist noted for using a wide range of media—including drawing, video, and installation art, as well as sculpture and painting—and her own life as the subject of her art. Her works were confessional, provocative, and transgressive, often portraying sexual acts and reproductive organs. Critics were seldom lukewarm in their response to her. Like Damien Hirst and Sarah Lucas, she was considered one of the YBAs (Young British Artists; also known as the BritArtists) who came to prominence in the 1990s. Emin and her twin brother, Paul, were born to an unwed mother. Their father, who was married to someone other than their mother, was a Turkish Cypriot. Emin grew up in the seaside resort town of Margate. She dropped out of school at age 13 and moved to London at 15. Two years later she attended Medway College of Design (now part of the University for the Creative Arts), Rochester, where she studied fashion. She was accepted without a secondary-school certificate at nearby Maidstone College of Art (also now part of UCA) and earned a fine-arts degree in 1986. Thereafter she obtained a master’s degree in painting (1989) from the Royal College of Art in London. In 1993, in the former London borough of Bethnal Green, Emin and fellow artist Lucas opened a store where they sold their own handmade items. One of Emin’s earliest exhibitions took place in 1993–94 at the influential White Cube gallery on Duke Street (1993–2002). That show, ironically titled “My Major Retrospective,” gave a hint of things to come. It displayed personally significant artifacts from Emin’s life, such as a hospital bracelet and personal correspondence, in addition to a quilt on which she had stitched the names of family members and notes to them. In 1994 Emin undertook a U.S. tour of performance art for which, sitting in her grandmother’s chair...
