The large round bulbous stoneware vase stands on a round skirted base with a widening round body and short flared top rim. The body of the vase is decorated in high fired deep red glazes with green almost textured like markings and with a deep blue interior. About the Artist: Albert Thiry (1932-2009) was born in Nice, France. Their standard production, in Vallauris clay with added grog to emphasise rusticity, resulted in delightful pieces both highly elaborate and utilitarian.
