A fine and stylish mid-century unusual Italian, Murano glass bird in cased colored glass . The bird stands raised on a tall clear glass ribbed round base with orange and mottled brown cased glass body and neck, the neck with run down clear glass overlay containing silver foil aventurine. The bird has blue glass wings and yellow glass beak and tail. The chest of the bird is decorated with small scattered colored jewel like glass elements applied in relief. The bird is not marked.

A vibrant Art Nouveau orange/pink over clear Harrach cameo vase. Depicting flowers highlighted with gilding. This style of Cameo was taken by Harrach to the 1900 Paris exhibition. Their stylized cameo technique employed an icicle effect -visible just below the orange band in most of the pictures. Harrach has been the backbone of Bohemian, and possibly European, glass for the last 300 years. It proudly celebrates its tri-centenary in 2012. Before Ludwig Moser was allowed to have his own Glassworks he, like almost everyone else in the region, bought his blanks from Harrach. In fact we will probably never know how much glass, supposedly made my other great glass makers of Europe, were in fact made and finished in the Harrach Glassworks. We do know that vast ranges of Legras was made by Harrach, probably under licence and possibly the majority of the glass we think of as Fratelli Tosso...

Exceptionally rare sea green gilded Holmegaard figural decanter and stopper designed in 1926 by Jacob Bang -The body of the decanter is his torso and legs -his arms are the twin handles and his head is the stopper-with the pourer formed into his collar. The similar female version of this decanter is documented in McConnels' Decanter book and an example resides in the Holmegaard Museum.
The Holmegaard Glass factory was built in 1825, founded by Countess Henriette Danneskiold-Samsøe. They made glass bottles at first, and then branched out into tableware in the 1830's.
