Luxury Vintage Irish Linen Pillow by Katie Larmour Couture Cushions Blue Stripe
Located in Belfast, Northern Ireland
Luxury pillow created from exquisite and rare vintage Irish Linen by Irish designer Katie Larmour. Made from quality vintage, pure, 100% Irish Linen made from the flax plant, from an unused roll. Highly textured, grainy and sumptuous to touch. Each cushion is handmade in Ireland. Lined in organic cotton, and finished with a concealed zip. Recommended 20x20" feather filler insert for plumpness. Backed in new natural undyed Irish linen on the reverse. Irish Linen is highly regarded worldwide, known since the turn-of-the-century as ‘white gold’ and the ultimate ‘aristocrat of textiles’. Katie Larmour is an associate member of The Irish Linen Guild and highlighted as a ‘recommended purveyor of Irish Linen goods’ by the guild on their official website. Katie is an ambassador The European Confederation of Flax and Hemp (CELC). Katie Larmour’s Studio are renowned for their high end creations. In beautiful faded tones of soft blue and navy, reminiscent of traditional French textiles. Both the hue and striped pattern make this a wonderfully versatile piece, working particularly well with beach house, yachts, sailboat, nautical decor, rustic, country manor house, bohemian and ‘shabby-chic’ interiors. More than one is available. There may be a lead making time of approx 1-2 weeks (often a small amount of stock is made and ready for immediate shipping) Please note the nature of linen is that the surface may contain ‘slubs’, this is to do with the weaving process. They are not seen as flaws and add to the textile’s character and charm, it is the nature of the natural fabric and we ask you to take this into consideration before ordering. We have a large collection of unique cushions listed here on 1stdibs, from one-of-a-kind vintage designer silk scarf...

Early Golf Club, Iron By W. Wilson Of St Andrews
Located in Oxfordshire, GB
Early Golf Club, Iron By Willie Wilson of St Andrews. A rare hand forged blacksmith-made wrought iron Victorian golf club cleek by Willie Wilson of St Andrews. The smooth faced lofting iron is heavy weighted, hickory shafted with crisp nicking to the top of the hosel where it meets the shaft. It is with leather sheep skin grip, the back of the iron club head stamped 'W. Wilson, Maker, St. Andrews'. The patina of the metal head is very attractive to collectors. Willie Wilson was one of the early ironmakers who produced fine clubs during the late 19th century. The measurements shown are the length of the shaft with hosel and the width and depth of the face. Willie Wilson of St Andrews was a well-known Scottish golf clubmaker. He began making irons in the 1860's and remained in business to the end of the century. He was among one of the most respected craftsmen in St Andrews, the "Home of Golf". Willie was known for producing handmade hickory-shafted golf clubs of high quality. His clubs were well-regarded for their balance, finish, and playability, and today they are sought after by collectors of antique golf equipment...

D-Day Flag, 1940s, one of the first American flags flown on June 6th, 1944.
By United States Navy
Located in London, GB
An original, battle -scarred, 48 -star US flag from the minesweeper USS YMS -381, one of the first boats to start Operation Neptune. This flag is one of the rarest items from D -Day to ever surface. As the earliest flag from D -Day, it would have been one of the very first the Germans saw on that momentous day, signalling the impending invasion. Uniquely, this flag comes with provenance that directly links it back to the Normandy Beaches, supported by a customs slip and an address label to New York City. What makes this flag even more extraordinary is its completeness - many D -Day flags have been found in tatters, yet this one remains intact, representing the start of D -Day in its entirety. No flag earlier in the mission is likely to surface, making this one of the most historic flags to emerge from this pivotal moment in history and the earliest flag from D-Day a collector could have. More than just a symbol, this flag embodies the courage and sacrifice of the D-Day mission - an irreplaceable artifact of history Flown on USS-YMS-381, one of the first vessels to enter the assault channels at Utah Beach on D-Day, this battle-worn, 48-star U.S. flag is a rare and significant piece of military history. Its provenance sets it apart: it is the earliest known American flag from D-Day to ever surface, and uniquely, it is the only flag flown from a minesweeper vessel to ever surface for sale. This makes it an artifact unlike any other, with historical weight far beyond its fabric. The flag comes with customs documentation that traces its origin directly to the Normandy beaches, where Captain William Beckham sent it home in September 1944. This direct link to the events of June 6, 1944—when the flag was among the first to be seen by German forces—is confirmed through careful research and verification. As one of the first flags to fly on the French coast during the D-Day landings, it was part of the early waves of vessels involved in Operation Neptune, the maritime portion of the broader Operation Overlord. In addition to its extraordinary provenance, this flag is in remarkable condition for its age and use. With metal grommets and a 30-inch masthead, the flag bears the faintly visible stamp “US Ensign,” further confirming its military authenticity. It was mailed back to a recipient in Tarrytown, NY, in September 1944, accompanied by its original signed U.S. Customs Declaration...
