Handmade: Variation is to be expected, each piece differs in color, size, shape and decorations due to its handmade nature and natural pigments. Memòri is about simplicity, imperfections, and embracing the "flaws".
Each piece is fired in an open fire - a dug hole during more than 12 hours, which makes unexpected and surprising results, including smoke marks on some pieces. This means that each piece is one of a kind and cannot be duplicated.
Care instructions: The ceramics are not glazed. We advise you to keep it as a decorative object if you want to conserve the original aspect.

The potters of northern Morocco perpetuate the ancient art of modeled pottery, which first appeared around 6,000 BC. The techniques and patterns used today are very close to those of their origins. A stunning three hooped ‘Pagoda Pot’ by Dorset potter Alan Ashpool, with a flared bowl to the top, tiered forms made from a mixture of thrown and slipcast sections joined together, culminating in a bell shaped base. Predominantly in an ecru colourway, followed by a dark grey glaze, then a turquoise/blue glaze, culminating in a stunning bronze manganese glaze. There are also beautiful blue flecks in the ecru finish, which were created in the firing process.
A wonderfully impressive and tactile piece measuring 40cm in height, in very good condition with no chips or cracks. Alan Ashpool backstamp to the base alongside the original address label.

These are a beautiful pair of French Faience dinner plates with pierced rims, made by the Luneville K&G factory and dating to the late 19th century, circa 1895.
These large circular earthenware pottery plates are well potted with pierced reticulated rims.
Both plates are hand painted over a printed outline, with a similar bold floral pattern in different shades of Pink, blue, green and yellow enamels.
Both plates have the the black printed Luneville, K&G factory mark on the base, dating them to the late 19th century, circa 1895.
Overall a very decorative matching pair of French Faience plates.
