Exquisitely carved with accents in gold, this rare survivor from Britain’s golden era of Classical architecture may have been intended for an architect’s office or the study of a gentleman architect like Lord Burlington (1694–1753), famously known as the "Apollo of the Arts" and the "Architect Earl."
