Set of 12 Italian Pine Dining Chairs, Attributed to Mario Marenco, 1970s
By Mario Marenco
Located in Almelo, NL
Set of 12 Italian Pine Dining Chairs, Attributed to Mario Marenco, 1970s
A rare set of twelve sculptural dining chairs in solid pine, attributed to Mario Marenco. Italian craftsmanship, 1970s. Warm patina, organic lines and beautifully rounded volumes.
This impressive set of twelve dining chairs is attributed to Mario Marenco, Italy, circa 1970s. Crafted in solid pine, the chairs display the characteristic sculptural language associated with Marenco’s organic modern designs: warm materials, soft curvature, and a sense of architectural solidity blended with a friendly, human approach to form.
Each chair features a wide, gently rounded backrest that flows into two vertical back supports, creating an instantly recognisable silhouette. The carved seat, with its subtly modelled edges, enhances comfort while maintaining a clean and minimal aesthetic. The solid pine construction shows beautiful grain patterns, natural knots and a deep, hand-applied patinated finish that has developed a rich, warm tone over the years.
The proportions are balanced and reassuringly robust, making the chairs suitable for both residential and hospitality settings—such as chalets, restaurants, wine bars or alpine-inspired interiors. Their expressive and organic character resonates with the Italian rustic-modern movement of the 1970s, as well as with the handcrafted Brutalist vocabulary seen in contemporary furniture from the same era.
Large matching sets of pine chairs from this period are increasingly difficult to source, and sets of twelve are particularly rare. Their strong visual presence allows them to pair beautifully with monolithic wood tables, stone dining tables or softer modernist interiors. With their combination of authenticity, craftsmanship and sculptural warmth, these chairs present a distinctive alternative to more commonly known mid-century design classics.
A wonderful opportunity for interior designers looking for a cohesive and highly decorative seating ensemble.
Dimensions (per chair):
Height: 81 cm (31.9 in)
Width: 45 cm (17.7 in)
Depth: 55 cm (21.6 in)
Seat Height: 44 cm (17.3 in)
Quantity: 12 chairs
CONDITION REPORT
Very good original vintage condition.
Solid and stable frames.
Minor wear consistent with age and use.
Beautiful patinated finish with natural knots and grain variations.
Mario Marenco (1933–2021) was an Italian architect and designer known for his sculptural, organic approach to furniture. He collaborated with Arflex, Poltrona Frau and several artisan workshops during the 1970s, creating expressive designs in solid wood and richly upholstered forms. Marenco’s work combines warmth, humour and architectural precision, making his pieces highly desirable in today’s interiors.

A stunning handcrafted Arts & Crafts pendant light from the 1920s featuring a hammered brass frame with a suspended opaline glass mosaic bowl. The opaline glass tiles are individually cut and set in a leaded grid structure, creating a warm and ethereal glow when illuminated. Suspended by three patinated brass chains from a circular canopy, this piece blends craftsmanship and functionality.
The fixture has been professionally rewired and is fully functional, ready for installation. A unique conversation piece, ideal for entryways, bedrooms, or atmospheric corners in both traditional and modern interiors.
This unique pendant / antique light fixture will bring the kind of pure and handcrafted class and beauty that you don't find anymore in this day and age. Thanks to the hook above the large brass canopy, mounting this stylish and rare ceiling lamp is child's play.
Mind you, our price for this rare Arts and Crafts ceiling lamp even includes perfect packing and also free delivery from our store to your door in just 4 to 6 days. No matter where you live on our beautiful planet.
Maximum height x diameter: 19 x 9.5 inches.
Height without the chain and canopy: 6.5 inches.
*Excellent vintage condition with minor signs of age and wear consistent with its period. One-of-a-kind patina on brass.
* The socket you see at the top, attached to the ceiling canopy, is actually an additional light socket designed to shine downward. This was sometimes added to provide extra direct lighting, separate from the main light within the fixture itself.

Antique early 18th century Dutch blacked oak two door table cabinet for TV
Located in Casteren, NL
This Dutch table cabinet, also known as a cross-legged cabinet, is made of oak and has a deep, almost black finish, which suggests a traditional treatment such as ebonized stain or dark varnish. The cabinet stands on a distinctive base with four turned and faceted legs, connected by an elegantly curved stretcher and ending in ball feet. This type of base is characteristic of cross-legged cabinets. The upper section features two doors with molded panels and a cornice with a clean yet subtle profile. The gilded hardware on the drawers and doors adds a stately and luxurious appearance. The cabinet is removable, making transport and installation significantly easier. Additionally, its design makes it particularly suitable for housing a television. Thanks to the special hinges and their strategic placement, the doors can be fully opened without obstructing the view. Inside, there is space for a television with a maximum width of 48.2 inches and a height of 27 inches. The interior is finished in the same deep, dark color as the exterior, ensuring a uniform and elegant appearance. This cabinet was crafted in the Dutch Baroque style and is likely from the period between 1680 and 1720. The Dutch Baroque style is characterized by a restrained yet elegant design, where functionality and durability go hand in hand with refined details. This piece exhibits typical Baroque features such as the heavily molded cornice, the solid presence of the upper section, the use of dark wood tones, and the expressive shape of the base. This type of cabinet was made during the late Dutch Golden Age, a time when prosperity still had a significant influence on furniture design. During this period, cross-legged cabinets were highly sought after by the affluent bourgeoisie and institutions such as city halls and council offices, where they were used for securely storing important documents, money chests, and administrative records. Dutch furniture makers were among the most influential in Europe at the time, exporting their craftsmanship to countries like England and Germany. The use of dark oak furniture...
