Each piece in our shop is professionally rewired and in working order. They have been rewired at our fourth generation antique store in The French Quarter of New Orleans. Each chandelier and lantern comes with a vintage canopy, three feet of chain, and ample wire, and each sconce comes with all materials needed to mount. Each piece is newly wired with UL approved wire and sockets and is fully operable.
This piece is a collection of a fourth generation, family owned business in New Orleans called The French Antique Shop. The store was first opened by Marie and Marcel Granet in Paris when they married in 1927. A jewish family, they came to the United States before the outbreak of the Second World War, leaving on the last boat out of Paris' port, Le Havre. If you Love Lucy, late 40's/ early 50's Hollywood, wanted to dance all night at the Tropicana to Ricky Ricardo's band, you may love this lamp by the Continental Lamp Co. The male figural plaster lamp and original hand woven cotton shade are in good vintage condition. The Continental Lamp Co. produced and wide variety of styles during the mid 20th century and lamps by the company have become quite collectible.
This mid-century Saxon crusader Robin Hood wood nymph themed chalk-ware figural table lamp. Continental Art Lamp Company was a Chicago based manufacturer located on the famous Division Street. The owners were John Matanky, the son of Russian immigrants, and three Italian nationals.

This fantastic Rococo-style chandelier features finely chiseled bronze d’ore. The piece was originally made for gas and uniquely sports horizontal fleur de lis key at the base of each cup to turn the flow of gas on and off. Dating back to the 19th century, the French antique piece offers bronze d’ore drippers, candle cups, and bobeches. This magnificent chandelier is suspended from a bronze d’ore floriate crown with a d’ore center adorned with outreaching acanthus leaves. Finally, the d’ore scroll arms themselves are acanthus leaves which curl into the d’ore candle cups. The piece is a store favorite, sitting above the desk of the owners, embodying the Rococo style with grace and style.
