By Michael Kenna
Located in Sante Fe, NM
Abruzzo, located in southern Italy, is known as the ‘green region of Europe’ because of the system of parks and nature reserves covering more than one-third of its territory. It has one of the highest biodiversity indexes in Europe, and one of the richest areas of flora in the world. In Abruzzo, Michael Kenna found a cultural identity that elsewhere, for the most part, has been lost to globalization and instant communication. Kenna photographed medieval ruins, ancient villages and a countryside rich in traditional cultivation. As curator Vincenzo de...

Highway 26, Shoshoni, Wyoming; June 9, 2021, color photograph, signed
By Steve Fitch
Located in Sante Fe, NM
"Highway 26, Shoshoni, Wyoming; June 9, 2021" is a color photograph by Steve Fitch. This piece is printed by the artist using archival pigment inks and is signed. In American Motel Signs, Steve Fitch documents the changing landscape, capturing the bright neon motel signs littered across long highway expanses throughout the West. The delightful photographs in this series, map out Fitch’s extensive journey to seek out a typology of visual relics that are quickly fading into the American collective memory. For Fitch, these motel signs carry an unquestionable enchantment in their folk originality — the blocky fonts and garish designs. His work is a road trip to the past, down lonesome highways where these emblems of roadside American...

Mother of the Forest
By Beth Moon
Located in Sante Fe, NM
*22x30" editions and 24x36" editions are platinum prints. Editions with a width of 60" or greater are archival pigment prints* Baobabs are one of Africa’s natural wonders: they can live more than 2,500 years, and their massive, water-storing trunks can grow to more than one hundred feet in circumference. They also serve as a renewable source of food, fiber, and fuel, as well as a focus of spiritual life. But now, suddenly, the largest baobabs are dying off , literally collapsing under their own weight. Scientists believe these ancient giants are being dehydrated by drought and higher temperatures, likely the result of climate change. Photographer Beth Moon, already responsible for some of the most indelible images of Africa’s oldest and largest baobabs, has undertaken a new photographic pilgrimage to bear witness to this environmental catastrophe and document the baobabs that still survive. In this oversize volume, she presents breathtaking new duotone tree portraits of the baobabs of Madagascar, Senegal, and South Africa. She also recounts her eventful journey to visit these fantastic trees in a moving diaristic text studded with color travel photos.

Landscape #43
By Vanessa Marsh
Located in Sante Fe, NM
"I make the images by first creating drawings on clear mylar. These drawings are then laid on top of light sensitive paper in the darkroom and then the paper is exposed to light. For images with layered landscapes, multiple drawings are placed on the paper which is then exposed at intervals and a drawing removed at the end of each interval. The stars are created by exposing the paper to light through a mask with small holes poked into it. The darkroom aspect of the process creates a photogram negative, which I then scan and invert into a positive image digitally. The final images are pigment prints on archival rag paper." -- Vanessa Marsh Vanessa Marsh was born in Seattle, Washington, and currently works in Oakland, California. Marsh first became interested in Photography when her mother gave her a Nikon E series camera in 9th grade. She earned her MFA in 2004 from California College of the Arts. Marsh has exhibited widely including the Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco, Dolby Chadwick Gallery...

Panorama of a Ghost River
By Mark Klett
Located in Sante Fe, NM
Influenced by late nineteenth-century expeditionary photographers such as Timothy O'Sullivan, who documented the "unexplored" territories of the West, Mark Klett visually explores these landscapes and the marks left on them by man. His images, like O'Sullivan's, have a human context - whether it be the lights of a city, a hat, foot or shadow jutting into the frame, or debris/artifacts left behind by ancient or modern passers-by. Working mostly in the desert Southwest...
