The sterling silver body of each dish is embellished with impressive embossed and pierced scrolling foliate and floral decoration. The posterior surface of each piece is ornamented with an embossed scene depicting a man in period attire holding a staff; it can be determined this figure is a shepherd. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver mustard pot has a plain cylindrical form. The body of the mustard pot is embellished with pierced interlacing scrolling leaf designs. The upper and lower rim of this sterling mustard pot is ornamented with an applied bead decorated border. This fine mustard pot retains the original hallmarked hinged domed cover surmounted with an impressive interlacing tri-lobed thumbpiece.
