A stylish and extremely well made set of eight Danish vintage teak dining chairs by Johannes Andersen, dating from the 1960’s.
They are of outstanding quality with a gorgeous design, they are very comfortable and supportive. They have a beautiful and sculptural design, the curved back rests sweep down into the sides of the seats, they stand on beautifully tapered legs.
We have had the solid teak frames stripped and re-polished to a very high standard, the condition is excellent throughout. The black vinyl seats are in superb condition, they appear to have been upholstered at different times as four are slightly more matt in finish, while four have more of a shine.

The elegantly bent rosewood slats mirror the shape of the human body, while a minimalist metal base provides stability without sacrificing lightness. Hans Brattrud’s work—including the Scandia series—is represented in prominent national and international museum collections such as the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design in Norway and The National Gallery of Australia.
The Scandia series has garnered numerous accolades: in 1967, the Scandia Stackable (Junior) chair was awarded the Gold Medal at the International Arts and Crafts Fair in Munich and the “Award for Design Excellence” by the Norwegian Design Council.
