"Landscapes of the Soul and of the Mind XIV " is a 40 x 40 inches, original, abstract landscape by American master colorist painter Al Lachman. The artwork is a gallery wrapped canvas, signed "Lachman" in the lower left. It is part of the artist's series "Landscapes of the Soul and of the Mind".
The artist puts his thumb upon the pulse of life and records it. In that mystical beat lies the unknown, and he would but make it known. Being both, innovator and spectator, he exists as an intrinsic part of that rhythm.
Each painting begins with a premise, and I rarely use the same one twice. It is based on what I see and what I am feeling at that moment. I do not think that painting is about technique. It is about a particular perception of the world around us. The premise creates the periphery of my intent. It is a limitation that gives birth to the creative forces within. - Al Lachman

Janet Jennings is known for her luminous oil & watercolor paintings. After working for Lawrence Rubin at Knoedler Contemporary Art, Jennings maintained a studio at Waverly Studios in New York City. She began as a Color Field painter, working on canvas and linen. Janet moved to Amagansett, NY in 1981 and switched her focus to landscape painting. Her career path led her to teach at The Parrish Art Museum, Guild Hall & The Victor D’amico Institute of Art. From 1993 to 1998, she was the Chair of the Andy Warhol Visual Arts Preserve Program. Jennings maintains ties to the art community as an educator and curator. She is a member of the East Hampton Arts Council, an advocacy group for performing and visual artists of East Hampton. Ms. Jennings maintains a painting studio in East Hampton and currently teaches oil and watercolor classes. In 1997, she was a founding member of CMEE, The Children’s Museum of the East End. Working with Lee Skolnick and JoAnn Secor, she was an exhibit designer and fabricator for “Time and Place, Light and Space”, the initial installation at Guild Hall, which launched CMEE. She was a lead designer for the permanent exhibition installation of CMEE, located in Bridgehampton, NY. Jennings received her BFA from the University of Dayton and attended The Dayton Art Institute, Antioch College and The Art Students League. Her paintings are in numerous corporate and private collections worldwide. Albert Jean Adolphe was known as a decorator, a portrait painter, and a landscape artist. He worked in oil and watercolor. Born in Philadelphia in 1865, he attended the Pennsylvania Museum School of Art. After graduation, he traveled to Europe and studied under Jean Leon Gerome and James Whistler at the Ecole des Beaux Artes in Paris and under DeVriendt in Antwerp.
Adolphe was a member of the Graphic Sketch Club and the Philadelphia Art Club. In 1894, he was awarded a honorable mention at the Columbian Exposition in Chicago and in 1899 he received an honorable mention in Paris. From the Philadelphia Art Club he won the Stotesbury Prize. He did decorative work at the Marlborough-Blenheim Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
For many years, Adolphe showed in Chicago, St. Louis, and in Philadelphia. From 1898 to 1902, he exhibited at the Paris Salon and later in Antwerp and Munich.
