Florist, Mandala - Collage of Dead Flowers - Colour Print with Black Background
Located in London, GB
‘Florist’ originally called ‘dead flowers’, was created using the flowers from my girlfriends ‘Zoom’ backgrounds over the space of several months. Usually scanned the moment she considered them to be wilted. About the series: " 'Detritus' series was born from the twin frustrations of lockdown halting all planned projects, yet litter still somehow being dropped in abundance on my street. With no idea of the final output, or indeed the hygiene implications, I started to collect, scan, and record what I found. When I realised these colourful misshapen objects could be turned into something beautiful, the frustrations left me and I began looking for other sources of Detritus. Florist, 2020 Series: Detritus Archival Pigment Print, Mounted on Dibond in custom made Frame; with Black Stained Oak and antireflective UV protective museum standard Art Glass Print 45 x 45 cm / Framed: 50 x 50 cm/ 19.6 x 19.6 inches approx. Flowers, The Self Representation of Light, Unique Luminogram, Drawn by Light
Located in London, GB
#473 FLOWERS, 2016 Luminogram, Silver Gelatin Print Print size: 30.5 x 40.6 cm Framed: 49 x 58 cm Frame with the classic museum style mount board and black frame/ Print can be shipped unframed - options available with more shipping prices available - please message us for more info/ This is a Unique piece Series: The Self Representation of Light Signed and dated in pen on verso, Certificate of Authenticity provided The Luminograms are made from the most simple of procedures - directing light onto silver gelatin photo paper. However, it is that simplicity that allows Jackson to adapt his own way of thinking into the making of the finished piece. As he says, it's as close as he can get in photography to painting. "I don't really see photography and pottery or painting or music to really be different to each other. Some are more immediate, some are more subtle. Music seems to be able to control emotions, photography seems to create a satisfying pleasure from just a tonal flat surface. Same with painting. One of the biggest mysteries for me is why all these things manage to control us in some way." - Michael G Jackson...

ATO MIC #10, Unique Silver Luminogram Print, Abstract geometry in warm tones
Located in London, GB
ATO MIC #10, 2020 Unique Gelatin Silver Print/ Luminogram and Photogram technique, Printed on tea infused fibre based paper, Framed: custom made frame with anti-reflective art glass Print size: 23 x 18 cm Framed: 38 x 35.5 cm Unique Series: ATO MIC Signed and dated in pencil on print's verso Certificate of Authenticity provided "At first glance the viewer may only see geometric spherical shapes with added lines and rectangles on tea toned Silver Gelatin paper. "The supremacy of pure artistic feeling" rather than the visual depiction of objects assign to the art movement of Suprematism comes to one's mind. Similarly, like a giant of abstract art Kasimir Malevich, Jackson wants the viewer to look further, deeper than one might usually. The feeling of 'sensation' of the ATO MIC prints, the sharpness of the forms, the intensity defying its size to condensed 9 x 7 inches' paper, make it all the more dramatic to look at. It takes the viewer to another level of fantastical world of creation." Beyond these flat forms of two dimensional ‘lumino-graphic’ works on paper, the purest form of photography (‘light drawing’) lays a visible path to three-dimensional imaginary world, realised in precise composition, rhythm and warm earthy tones of these works. It’s up to the viewer to decide what they prefer to see and take with them. As Wassily Kandinsky once said; “Imagination is what allows your mind to discover.” About the Artist: Michael G...

By Costas Picadas
Located in Brooklyn, NY
*Scientists at Mount Sinai are working to identify and block COVID-19 while many are still at risk from the disease. We (the artist and gallery) will be donating 30% of all income from this work to Mount Sinai to support their efforts saving lives… Picadas creates photographs and video installations of places, situations and architecture that not only reveal their inner essence but also hint at dark unknown recesses. By partially stripping away the surface features of an image, the artist unearths visions that give rise to both a secret countenance and a psychic inner landscape. The artist explains, “In my photographs I examine and reveal the ways in which one can freeze both space and time by re-contextualizing different parts of reality and recombining them in new ways. The result is that both objects, and even situations, can be transformed into a kind of sculpture, providing us access to new knowledge about the nature of our reality.” The current works on view include photographs from Costas Picadas...

One Day Like Rain - Abstract Blue
By Arica Hilton
Located in Chicago, IL
ONE DAY LIKE RAIN - ABSTRACT BLUE Archival pigment print mounted on Dibond with UV protective acrylic Available sizes: 18" x 24" 30" x 40" 40" x 53" "Tender words we spoke to one another are sealed in the secret vaults of heaven. One day like rain, they will fall to earth and grow green all over the world." -Rumi (13th Century) ARICA HILTON BIOGRAPHY: Perhaps it was because she was born on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey, an important waterway for cross-cultural trade and the birth of great civilizations, that Arica Hilton brings a passion for our earth and its inhabitants to her life as an artist and global advocate. Whether hiking the Himalayas to experience the country’s culture, or cage diving with great white sharks off Guadalupe Island, or participating in scientific expeditions to document threats to the health of our oceans, Hilton is driven to pursue first-hand encounters with people and their living environments. The seeds for Hilton’s dauntless pursuits were sown early. At six-years-old she moved to the United States, not knowing a word of English. Her sense of displacement had a lasting impact, prompting a search to uncover where she belonged in the world. Hilton determined early on that her most illuminating pathway would be the road less taken – a pursuit that continues today. Near and far, Hilton seeks the unique and uncommon. Her adventures have included 22 visits to Asia. She has swum, run and biked her way through triathlons. She has participated in global initiatives for just governance and human security. And she inspires awareness and searches for solutions to improve living conditions for humanity and our earth as a whole. Hilton’s art and global advocacy are informed by the different schools of thought and cultures that she continually encounters. Hilton’s own creative pursuits began with writing poetry and expanded to painting when she began to illustrate her poems. Her artistic evolution sparked an interest in the realm of creation as she discovered mathematics, physics, quantum mechanics and string theory. Her studies solidified her passion for environmentalism when she learned that stars are nothing more than another extension of humanity – that the elements in the bloodstream are the same elements that comprise a star. The interconnection was what Hilton had been searching for her whole life. As Hilton says “We are the same as a star. How beautiful is that?” Today, Hilton is a visual artist, poet and global advocate who travels worldwide to enrich her life and the lives of others. She is based in Chicago, where she is the director and curator of Hilton Asmus...

Renee s Breakfast
Located in Brooklyn, NY
"Renee's Breakfast" depicts a simple image of three eggs on a plate with bacon, a breakfast so familiar to many, and serves as a poignant reminder of the passage of time and the transience of even the most ordinary moments. Just as the morning sun rises and sets, casting shifting shadows and changing the hues of the yolks, so does life move forward, never standing still. The sizzling bacon mirrors life's moments, fleeting and ephemeral, yet leaving behind a savory residue of memories. In this seemingly mundane tableau, we find an allegory for the ceaseless march of time, urging us to savor each bite, each moment, for they are as precious as the breakfast on our plate. John Kato...

Eternal Flame III - Koi Carp - Print on Museum Glass with Gold and Silver leaf
Located in London, GB
"The bottomless depths of a private koi pond in a Sussex garden. Dancing light, rhythmic flow and a coloured whirl of so many flashing fins, all help to convey the dark mystery of a life below the surface" ETERNAL FLAME III, 2017 Printed on museum glass, hand finished with White Gold and Silver leaf 30 x 30 cm image glass size/ 31 x 31 cm/ 12.2 x 12.2 inches (Framed) From edition of 5 Series: Southern Song Each piece is individually hand finished by the artist with White Gold and Silver leaf giving the piece its own unique style. "I am primarily driven by an exploration of colour and form. My objective is to bring an emotional element and aesthetic balance to my work. I try to depict the subtleties of the landscape and am happiest making images from the smallest, most insignificant detail - the challenge being to portray the essence of what is about my subject matter that has taken my eye." - Valda Bailey...

Abstract fauna of Akule Hawaiian Fish, Hand Printed Silver Gelatin Luminograms
Located in London, GB
"The play of water and light has fascinated me for years. From childhood I have found sunlight underwater mesmerising - be it a Cornish rock pool or The Red Sea, the movement and diffraction of light excites me. Add to that the thrill of schools of fish - specifically Akule, which are found in seas off Hawaii. I spent some time wanting to make a series of prints that captured the play of light on these fast moving fish - creating flowing abstract forms and textures." - Mike G Jackson The goal isn't to replicate the real world - it is to show where the real world and the process meet - sometimes pushing towards the real world, sometimes pushing towards the process - but never completely at either extreme. - Michael G Jackson Michael Jackson (b.1966) is an experimental photographer based in North Dorset, England. He studied art at West Dean College in Sussex, then apprenticed under landscape painter Christopher W Baker and later discovered his passion for photography. He moved away from working with traditional camera techniques in 2015 and is currently progressing the Luminogram process into new directions in which he has become regarded as a leading practitioner. Located in London, GB
The goal isn't to replicate the real world - it is to show where the real world and the process meet - sometimes pushing towards the real world, sometimes pushing towards the process - but never completely at either extreme. - (the Artist: Mike G Jackson) NEW YORK CITY AND THE HUDSON 2020 "After spending time in New York and producing work that showed the city from the viewpoint of being on the inside, I wanted to show the city from the outside looking in. I wanted to try and capture the city and water using bold shapes - building up the scene piece by piece. Making the sky and sea from rectangles to make them a whole with the city structures." - Mike G Jackson Unique 4 x Prints, Selenium toned Silver Gelatine Luminogram Print, Hand printed in the darkroom, Framed Dimensions: 32 x 24 inches (82 x 62 cm approx including frame); can be framed separately or in one frame upon request Frame: Mounted on aluminium Dibond, custom made hardwood frame (framing options available upon request; colour and various material options) finish with antireflective UV protective AR Art Glass Mounting and framing of this work will be done after the purchase so the framing options like framing colour for example can be made according to specifications of the client; matt or gloss, black, white, metallic etc . Please allow 2-4 weeks for mounting and framing - we will keep you updated About the Artist: Michael Jackson (b.1966) is an experimental photographer based in North Dorset, England. Past awards and accolades include being named a Finalist for the Hasselblad Masters Award (2008, 2009, 2010) and winner of the 2013 Chris Beetles Award. His work has been exhibited internationally and is part of various private and public art and photography collections including The National Art Gallery in Washington, USA. Michael Jackson’s Luminograms are a very special piece of photographic art. Not a photograph in itself but a creative medium of its own. Each one is meticulously crafted by Michael in his darkroom. There are many structured stages to go through before the photographic paper can be hand developed and permanently fixed. Once Michael is happy with a finished Luminogram print it’s then toned in Selenium, which not only intensifies the prints tonality, but also increases the prints archival quality. Traditional photographic darkroom printing techniques have an unquestionable pedigree when it comes to the life expectancy of a photograph. Each Luminogram is unique and only one Silver Gelatin Print is produced of each image. The images reveal themselves with a 3D quality; viewed in the flesh the abstracted surreal forms within the paper come alive to the viewer. Michael Jackson’s Luminograms were exhibited for the first time at MMX Gallery in 2016; The Self Representation of Light exhibition and the following year at Photo London 2017 as well as next Photo London editions. The Luminogram work was also paired with theologian Edwin A. Abbott in a book published by 21st Editions, titled after the author’s famous work ‘FLATLAND’ and premiered in November at the Grand Palais in Paris, for Paris Photo 2017. Other recent group exhibitions include Light + Metal, PhotoEye Gallery, (USA) and Unbound 7, Candela Gallery, (USA), ATO MIC, MMX Gallery, London 2022. “Mike Jackson...

Angel (Little Egypt) State III
By Barbara Takenaga
Located in Lyons, CO
Color lithograph with gold metallic powder, Edition 15. Barbara Takenaga writes: “About the prints, they’re part of a series of recent Angel paintings — which were influenced by seeing a small painting fragment of angel’s wings by Fra Angelico. I liked the way the feather pattern is similar to the Asian motif of fish scales or waves of water. There is a reference to the natural world, as well as the heavenly, but in an abstract, decorative approach. With the scale change of smaller elements in the center and larger dots on the edge, there is the implication of folded space that moves from near to distant — with some sensation of being pulled toward a far off place. The metallic background is dusted with gold or pearlescent powder over deep orange, which gives the surface some shimmer and color change. Pacify
By Rick Garcia
Located in Chicago, IL
Archival Ink on Museum Quality Rag Paper Available in the following sizes: 16 x 20 inches 24 x 30 inches 30 x 40 inches Edition size: 25 Please inquire regarding framing Rick Garcia's RAG13 Collection is inspired by the observation that there has been a significant and permanent change in our public and private lives. These artworks use symbolism to illustrate how the ubiquitous presence of suspicion and the act of being a suspect have both become a way of life. Adults and children are shown as generic solid shapes with parts missing to indicate loss of identity and the relinquishing of certain rights. The watchful eye of authority is always present as a figure dressed in black with three white stripes. All of the figures have a red dot to symbolize the human heart; how we are all connected. This red dot also represents being a target or a person of interest. Overall, this latest series creates a surreal flow of images, colors, and shapes blending into a beautiful and poignant work of art. About the Artist: "Photography has been part of my creativity throughout my life and more recently has become influential in my abstract work on canvas. The magical shapes of water gracefully floating or scattering in mid-air reveals the true god-like essence of nature. I am fascinated studying these images of bright tiny mercury-like globes, silky trails, dancing droplets and crystal clear languid sheets. " Rick Garcia was born in Havana, Cuba, and very soon after, his parents relocated to Miami, Florida. He was always encouraged to follow his dream of pursuing and developing his talent in art. In later years he found a deep-rooted connection to surrealism, especially the work of Salvador Dali. Garcia had become obsessed with the unique images and amazing technique of the Spanish painter and he eventually traveled to Port Lligat, Spain to visit the home and surroundings of his mentor. After years of attending the Art Institute of Miami, where he refined his artistic vision in drawing and painting, he was soon earning an income from published illustrations. Garcia has enjoyed a rich and diverse career starting with the hit TV show "Miami Vice" commissioning him to create a mural on the side of a three story building, and used his paintings for interior shots. Apart from a growing number of private commissions, his distinctive images were commissioned by The United Nations Postal Administration in 1998 and 2003. His stamps brought awareness to the growing extinction of the rainforest and its inhabitants, and followed with the 50th Anniversary of the World Health Organization, bringing awareness to the vanishing supply of freshwater, where it earned him the prestige of the most beautiful stamp series of 2003. Garcia was chosen as an "Absolut Artist of the 90s" in the popular vodka ad campaign and with his second piece Absolut Electric, this further drew worldwide attention. 1998, 1999, and 2001 garnered him the distinction of official artist to The Grammy Awards where his creations influenced the look of the live broadcast and graced the covers of the official program book, CDs, posters, apparel, and other various items. His work included portraits of stars such as Destiny's Child, Ricky Martin, Coldplay, Santana, Celia Cruz...
