Tafla collection is a radical step towards such transformations. Mirrors made with FiDU technology are a result of free deformation caused by high internal pressure. This process creates objects of great durability yet of subtle structure.
Available in emerald color, sapphire color, gradient of emerald and sapphire color, dark matter color, and deep space blue color.
About the artist/ designer:
Oskar Zieta – an architect, designer, artist and innovator. Born in 1975, after he graduated architecture at Szczecin University of Technology in 2000, he has got a scholarship at ETH Zurich. Over the course of 2 years of postgraduate studies he developed skills in parametric design and modern manufacturing technologies finalized with PhD graduation. Currently he runs the department of industrial design at School of Form. Laureate of many prestigious awards in design and technology. Inventor of FiDU - inner pressure metal forming technology - the keystone to Zieta Collection, Zieta Out of Ordinary as well as large scale sculptures like NAWA on Daliowa Island in Wroclaw and WIR in Galeria Pólnocna in Wroclaw.

Effetto Vetro contemporary large round concave colored mirrored glass in antique green mounted on a polished brass structure on the back with three mounting clips on the front edges. This exquisite artisan mirror is handmade and hand silvered in Italy - a sculptural work of art, grand and impressive in scale and and comes in a variety of vintage glass colors from the 1950s. Since each mirror is meticulously hand-crafted including silvering, there are subtle variations inherent in the handmade process.
The green color of this mirror is an extraordinary soft vintage green shade of Murano glass no longer seen these days with more recently produced green glass. Depending on the different angles it's viewed from, the reflections change because of its concave shape.
Signed "Effetto Vetro" on metal plaque attached to brass structure on underside.
Comes in a variety of vintage glass colors including rose, amber, bronze, green, azure, aquamarine, China blue, cobalt blue, gray and black.

Thomas Johnson (1723-1799)
Thomas Johnson was one of the most skilled carvers and furniture designers in Georgian England. Drawing inspiration from the Fables of Aesop, the rococo, China, and the idealised rustic life, his work is whimsical, exuberant and witty. Chippendale borrowed freely from his work. Johnson was a founder member of the 'Antigallican Society', a group who excoriated the French taste.
In addition to its relation to Johnson's designs, this mirror also reflects the influence of Lock, the great master with whom he worked for a period. Lock published many sketches and pattern books, including A New Book of Ornaments for Looking Glasses in 1752, introducing several idiosyncratic features which Johnson would adopt such as the small decorative urns...
