For quite a few seasons, micro bags that are barely big enough to fit an iPhone have been stealing the limelight. Fashion often isn’t practical, and we accept that in the name of style, but handbags with a functional purpose are back. You know, the ones you can actually fit your stuff in? Groundbreaking, we know.

On the autumn/winter 25 runways, the likes of Ferragamo and Louis Vuitton made a case for squishy, unstructured styles, and Giorgio Armani and Fendi made supersized handbags the centre of attention. It’s safe to say slouchy styles are back, and they’re bigger (quite literally) than ever.

No matter your preference on bag fabrication—whether it’s buttery soft leather, supple suede or a cool braided fabric—it doesn’t matter as long as the bag delivers the slouchy, non-rigid silhouette that 2025 is asking for. The big carry-everything styles that will also hold a laptop, spare shoes and everything else we can shuffle out of our usual canvas tote bag get our vote.
