It's not often that I'm stopped in my tracks by a jacket, but it happened last year when I spotted an unbelievably chic style modelled by Instagram trendsetter Rachael Clifton, aka Bubbly Aquarius. I also couldn't quite believe it when I saw that the jacket was from none other than high-street fave H&M, so naturally, I jumped on my emails to ask the brand's PR to let me know as soon as the style hit the website. It was a good day when I finally got the green light. Unsurprisingly, the jacket sold out in a matter of days, but I'm happy to report that it's back in stock for 2022.
With premium real leather, a boxy silhouette and a zip-up fastening, it's essentially a modern update on the classic leather biker jacket. That being said, it also has definite '90s undertones, and I can totally imagine it worn with slouchy jeans and chunky boots. I would use it to give an edge to my smarter separates, like black tailored trousers and silken blouses—ideal for date-night styling.
