Laverne Cox Made History With Her Latest Cover Shoot
Laverne Cox's latest cover just made history. The actress and LGBTQ advocate is featured on the front of Cosmopolitan's South Africa February issue (with the tagline #SayYesToLove), making her the first openly transgender model to grace the glossy.
Laverne took the Instagram to document this groundbreaking moment, posting her gorgeous cover, along with the caption, "I am so honored and proud to cover the February issue of @cosmopolitansa." But as Cosmopolitan's South Africa points out, this isn't the first time the star has made history.
"She's made history as the first openly transgender person to be nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in the acting category, and she is also the first to have a wax figure of herself at Madame Tussauds, now in a GLOBAL first for COSMO she features as our incredible cover star! Get it, girl!" the publication writes on Instagram. See the history-making cover below, as well as a BTS video Cox shared on her Instagram.
