Judith Sobel was born in Lwow Poland in 1924. After World War II, she attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, Poland. There she studied with the famous abstract constructionists, Wladyslaw Strzeminski and Stefan Wegner from whom she learned the principles of Modern Art as laid down by the European Cubists. Sobel’s work was selected for the First Exhibit of Modern Art Museum Krakow in 1948-49. Judith Sobel emigrated to the newly found Israel where she lived for five years, becoming very active in Israel’s emerging art world. Her work was collected and exhibited by the major art museums of Israel including the Museum of Modern Art at Haifa; her art was regularly shown in the Israeli galleries. Original three-quarter close-up of the surprised model at work, with the carefree and seductive air of young and happy waitresses at work.
The painting is harmonious in its rich shades of blue, white, grey and violet, combined with muted, earthy tones and tints of ocher flesh.
The flattened perspectives, the fractured surfaces and the graphic stylizations refer to the cubism of Picasso and Juan Gris. There are echoes of Modigliani in the treatment of his female models and we can detect an homage to Gauguin and Matisse, in his playful and sensual manipulation of color.

Lutz's 2007 ''Warhol Denied'' series gained international attention calling into question the importance of originality or lack thereof in the work of Andy Warhol. The authentication/denial process of the [[Andy Warhol Art Authentication Board]] was used to create value by submitting recreations of Warhol works for judgment with the full intention for the works to be formally marked "DENIED". The final product of the conceptual project being "officially denied" "Warhol" paintings authored by Lutz.
Based on a press photo painted by Pop Artist Andy Warhol in early 1960's, this is likely one of the most iconic images from his Death and Disaster Series. The Death and Disaster Series was a dark view of the time's media and death culture. This was a departure from Warhol's Campbell's Soup Cans and portraits of Jackie Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, Liz Taylor, and Marlon Brando in that these were images of the deaths of everyday people- one could say their "15 minutes of fame" as Warhol coined...
