Pop art is an art movement that emerged in the United Kingdom and the United States during the mid- to late-1950s. Rare 1985 color lithograph by Kumi Sugaï. This limited edition, 12/50, in excellent condition is titled 'Oni'. Oni can be read "Nami" which means wave but also Blue Devil. Oni translates in Japanese folklore as a type of demonic creature often of giant size, great strength, and fearful appearance. They are generally considered to be foreign in origin. Cruel and malicious, they can, nevertheless, be converted to Buddhism.
