I'm Already Dreaming Up My Fall Wardrobe—27 Chic Pieces I'm Excited to Wear
The two seasons I get most excited for each year are always fall and spring. Summer and winter feel too extreme—freezing cold or melting hot. Plus, after a series of heat waves in NYC this summer (during which I basically lived in a white Hanes tank top and my Lowen Midi Skirt), I'm ready for the weather to consistently be 70°. I'd even take as low as 60°.
I'm someone who likes to build a wish list over time, saving pieces I come across throughout the year. That way, I've already done some of the research ahead of time once the appropriate season comes along, which helps me curate and refine rather than impulse buy. I can think more intentionally about the season ahead, and going back through my saved items gives me a chance to reflect on what I actually want to wear. For my fall wardrobe, I'm taking more of a capsule approach: a trench coat, cashmere layers, tights, ballet flats, Mary Jane walking shoes, a classic pair of jeans. I have a list of brands I'm keeping an eye on as well, such as Paloma Wool, Gimaguas, Baserange, Charlie Beads, and Brooke Callahan.
Here are the 27 chic pieces that caught my eye while shopping for fall.
This Cleo bag just came in the mail, so I can cross it off my wishlist—which I'm thrilled about. If you haven't heard of the L.A.-based brand, it's truly special, and I can't recommend it enough.
I mean… This coat is such a dream. One of our editors, Eliza Huber, recently wrote about how faux fur, vintage, and shearling were all over last season's runways (Prada, Miu Miu, Chloé, Valentino) and would be one of the defining trends of fall 2025 fashion.
