This is a porcelain blue and white, gilded Coffee Can made by Miles Mason (Mason's), Staffordshire Potteries, in the early 19th century George 111rd period, circa 1805-1810. The piece is well potted with vertical flutes, a slightly wavy rim and the loop handle with the distinctive thumb rest spur. The can is decorated in the under-glaze blue printed Pagoda or Broseley, chinoiserie Willow pattern, (sometimes called Boy at the Door pattern). The piece is also richly gilded in Miles Mason pattern 50 as illustrated on Page 78 of the book; Miles Mason Patterns and Shapes, produced by the Mason's Collectors' Club. The coffee can is also hand gilded around the rims and on the outer handle. The piece is fully marked to the base with an under-glaze blue printed square seal mark (pseudo Chinese) as illustrated on page 92 of the above publication. Overall a very good Georgian coffee can...

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Elizabeth I English sterling silver seal-top spoon; an addition to our 16th century silver flatware collection. This exceptional antique Elizabethan sterling seal top spoon* has a pear-shaped bowl to a faceted stem. The rounded bowl of this impressive antique silver spoon is plain and unembellished, apart from the feature assay mark. The faceted stem terminates with a knopped circular seal matrix/die bearing the initials 'SPSW'. The knopped terminal and bowl of the spoon retain the original gilding. Such 16th century examples in this condition are becoming increasingly difficult to locate. * Seal top spoons became popular in England in the later 16th and 17th centuries. NOTE: After surviving the Great Fire of London, the records at the London Assay office were destroyed by fire in 1681; their catalogues and documentation began again in 1697. Due to this unfortunate event, we are unable to associate a maker to this spoon. Condition This antique silver seal...

The Victorian or early Edwardian game comprises of a short beech-wood pole with weighted X base and a ball on a piece of string. There are two very nice long handled rackets to accompany the set, the rackets with original gut stringing. A fine and I believe very rare set. The paper instructions are in French and read:- Le Spiroble de Salon. Deux Joueurs:- Ce jeu se joue sur une table divisee en deux parties egales par le Trace. Il se compose d'un Poteau au sommet duquel est attachee une cordelet le terminee par une balle en caoutehoue. Pour installer le Poteau on en fait entrer l' extremite dans le support alour- di de plomb en forme decroix. Le support est place au milieu de la table dans l'axe du Trace. Deux joueurs prennent part au jeu. Munis chacun d'une raquette, ils se placent en ???? l'un de l'autre de chaque cote du Trace et tirent au sort a qui lancera la balle.
