Tropitone was founded in Sarasota, Florida in 1954 by Burt M. Baker, a retired Lockhead Engineer and executive at Grand Rapids Chair Company. Tropitone served the contract market, including hotels, motels, clubs, and resorts with high performing outdoor patio furniture. In the 1960’s they introduced powder coated aluminum finishes to the industry. Utilizing a multi-step wash process that ensures a lasting finish, Tropitone’s aluminum frames prevail under any environmental conditions. Tropitone also pioneered the technique of double-wrapping vinyl straps around the powder coated aluminum frame for extra durability, which continues today. In 1970’s they established operations in Irvine, California which provided a bi-coastal manufacturing to North American customers. Specifically, the Queen chair has one new hand carved finial created by our professional craftsman and all finials have been dyed black as well as the grooves & detail all over the frame of the chairs and the rings and ball details on the legs. ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY KING AND QUEEN!!!! Talk about ABSOLUTE Royalty!!! This is a glorious pair of Gothic Revival Ecclesiastical His & Hers Throne chairs comprised of hand carved oak frames bearing engraved Gothic details, designs, and cutouts including a transcendent triple finial high back presentation worthy of nobility. Each peak is hand carved with designs resembling oak leaves and they have been intricately dyed black… they’re nothing short of fabulous. Because of the maturity of these chairs, we believe that they were probably reupholstered at some point in their lives, and they look marvelous!! They are wearing a beautiful bright cardinal red hopsacking fabric trimmed with gimp and nail head details on the seats and back inserts which also have upholstered backs. The King chair has fabric surrounding the arm rests while the Queen chair has no arms, however it does have attractive side braces. Both thrones have lovely hand carved decorative front aprons with black detail and stand proudly upon turned front legs with black dyed rings & details on casters and square straight slightly curved back legs… I mean, WOW!!!! They’re definitely Ecclesiastical and Gothic Revival but they bear a bit of East Lake Victorian style as well and they are SURE to be quite the conversation piece in your home! Chic Herman Miller Everywhere vintage modern table with natural oak wood veneer and rounded square black metal legs by Dan Grabowski. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. There are some very minor scuffs on the legs and a small mark, possibly ink, on the edge of tabletop but no other known imperfections that we have found. Please see photos and zoom in for details. This fabulous modern style table is comprised of a round top wearing a natural oak wood veneer and four black metal legs in an unusual almost “squircle” (YES, it’s a real shape!!) or rounded square legs. This phenomenal drop front desk is made with superior craftsmanship and materials and is in exceptional original condition. Comprised of teak that has been carved on the drop front and the drawer faces with an incredible plum blossom and bird motif. The drop front is slanted above three rows of drawers. The top row having two drawers and the lower two a single full width drawer. All with recessed carved handles. Inside the drop front, besides the work surface, there is a removable cubby compartmentalized storage including a small drawer. This is made in the style of renowned Chinese furniture maker George Zee and Co. who made high quality teak and camphor wood furniture...
