Marvelous vintage Postmodern end or side table comprised of a black lacquered pedestal base with beveled edges & gold base trim and a rounded square shaped top with gold trim edges and mirror surface. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. No outstanding flaws seen but there are a couple small dots on the mirrored top where the silvering is missing along with some scratches, and a few scuffs in the black paint. Handsome and iconic Scandinavian Modern Scissor lounge chair designed by Folke Ohlsson for DUX. It is in wonderful vintage condition. The wood frame has been restored; however, there may still be small signs of age. We did have to fill some rather deep flaws in the wood. The straps have been replaced with appropriate new straps. And the foam cushions are new and newly upholstered. Please see photos, circa 1950s.
Now you can get all your DUX in a row!! Sorry, I couldn’t resist. This is the iconic and beautiful Scissor Lounge Chair. It was designed by Folke Ohlsson for his company DUX, Inc. purportedly in 1949. It is so incredible in its simplicity and when viewed from the side you can see immediately where it got its name. We are very excited about this wonderful chair here at our shop. Its walnut frame has been completely restored and we have replaced all the straps, which were beyond repair, with proper strapping. Plus, we have made new foam cushions and upholstered them in a fabulous black and taupe horizontal stripe fabric.

Fantastic vintage Modern to Postmodern maple pedestal base round coffee table with blue laminate inlaid top designed by Michael Graves for Craftwood a Division of Sonnenberg Ind. Ltd. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, it has all been refinished except for the cylinder pedestal. The wood base was repaired and filled prior to refinishing & there were little nicks in the laminate that were filled & colored. Well, MY GOODNESS… what have we here??? WOW!!!! This is a GORGEOUS vintage Modern to Postmodern round coffee table with a cylindrical maple pedestal base and a lovely blue laminate inlaid top designed by Michael Graves for Craftwood a Division of Sonnenberg Ind. Ltd. It was specified by Michael Graves who redesigned the Topeka Public Library in 1998. The rest of the project’s furniture for the 100,000 square foot addition specified by him as well. He collaborated with several celebrity designers and created some of the most avant-garde and high style furniture in the 1980’s. SUPER COOL!!!! In addition to being great looking… it is very sturdy. The construction method of this table is celebrated with a beautiful cylindrical pedestal perched upon a round maple base and gorgeous round tabletop featuring a fabulous blue laminate inlaid surface surrounded by a marvelous maple edge & lower apron. INCREDIBLE!!!! It would be fabulous in a living or family room surrounded by a pair of chairs or in front of your sofa. It could also be utilized as a wonderful accent, side, or end table. It’s the perfect spot to set a cup of coffee or a cocktail, hold a stack of books in your sitting room, or host an awesome sculpture or wonderful table lamp in the entry or hall. There you have it… magnificent Modern to Postmodern style, versatility, and an iconic reputation to boot. This coffee table is EXACTLY what the designer ordered!

Fabulous vintage Hollywood Regency Chinoiserie Chinese Chippendale style Thomasville black low profile accent occasional chairs, set of 4. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, all 4 chairs have natural, distressed edges from age & wear which we have enhanced giving them a gorgeous patinated look then added a fresh coat of lacquer. A couple of small holes in the vinyl have been repaired. They can be used as is, but most will want to reupholster. They are priced accordingly. You know, 1971 was a VERY good year… There were 3 partial solar eclipses AND there were TWO total lunar eclipses in the SAME year!!… The FIRST EVER Starbucks opened at the historic Pike Place Market in Seattle, Washington… A movie ticket only cost $1.50… Oh ya… AND it’s the year I was BORN!! (Hmmmmm, those eclipses may explain a few things in my life!) LOL…Anyway, how privileged am I to share a birthday with these MARVELOUS occasional chairs by Thomasville!!! This is a set of four incredible Thomasville low profile occasional chairs in the style of James Mont covered in a deep black faux ebony finish bearing a naturally distressed all-over patina on their frames. They have wide, square seats wearing lovely black vinyl or faux leather fabric that is nice enough to use for a while but eventually you may want to reupholster. Just think of the limitless fabric possibilities!!! They feature beautifully carved Asian detailed backs and straight square legs with a wide and sturdy stance. The front legs have a slightly turned in foot, but no rounded hoof look so not quite the Ming style, but we might say a hint or bit of flair. They are definitely bursting with styles of Hollywood Regency, Chinoiserie, and Chinese Chippendale magnificence and are sure to be a favorite new addition to your home! They are too low for use at a standard dining table; however, if you have a low profile Asian Chabudai (Japanese short-legged table,) or a low-profile game table, these would be a perfect fit!! Otherwise, you could certainly use them as extra seating in your living or family room or split them up and use two in the corner of your bedroom and two in the sitting room or study across from your fireplace. They are very versatile, composed of solid frames, and they bear an unmatchable and timeless Thomasville reputation!! They are EXACTLY what the designer ordered!

Handsome vintage MCM (a.k.a.) Mid-Century Modern Burke Division for Brunswick Tulip side table style of Eero Saarinen comprised of a wood grain laminate top with back beveled edge and a dark charcoal painted aluminum pedestal base. The Burke for Brunswick label is on the underside of the tabletop covered by the pedestal tulip base. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been restored or refinished. Specifically, we have filled some dings in the back beveled edge and repainted. There is a scrape on the foot of the pedestal base, but we chose not to fill & paint but to leave it original. It is comprised of a stout rattan base, and it features a wonderful white tile top including three tiles with black painted Asian designs of fans and symbols… it’s absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! This end table is from Ficks Reed’s Far Horizons collection by John Wisner which was introduced in 1954. It is designed with sturdy and stylish crossbars with rattan ties on the corners on all four sides of the coffee table. And the design of this awesome Campaign style end table is classic allowing it to work with many decor aesthetics and styles from traditional to mid-century modern. Well, well, well… what have we here?? We call this… serve-ware EXTRAORDINAIRE!!!! This is a lovely vintage set including a marvelous Dorothy Thorpe serving bowl with her signature silver band and original label plus three “Masterpiece in Wood” black ceruse wood nesting trays with rounded chrome corners labeled with their gold crest logo on the bottom… by Nasco, made in Japan. The silver band surrounding the bowl bears a bit of wonderful, vintage patina which we chose to leave alone as we LOVE the appearance & stories it could tell… but it could be polished if you prefer that look. The name Dorothy Thorpe is simply mid-century modern and Hollywood Regency glamour at its finest and this incredible glass serving bowl represents her iconic style while these marvelous Nasco nesting trays compliment it’s exemplary existence. The silver band on the glass bowl simply explodes as it sits beside the trays & those marvelous chrome corners… it’s quite a STUNNING set up!!! The trays would be an exceptional way to present snacks or beverages to your guests, or a table or bar hosting a lovely set of vintage glasses...

It has some visible wear, particularly in the top, so you can see some scratches and dings. And it has a newly modified recessed black painted base as it encountered water at some point in its life and could not be refinished so we revamped it, modified, and painted the base black. Gorgeous Art Deco Revival tessellated marble with brass inlay accent strips, low console table and mirror, or it could be a coffee table and separate mirror, in the style of Maitland Smith. Excellent vintage condition. There is a tiny chip on the underside of one foot that has been repaired. There are several repairs to the marble that was done nicely and looks like age-appropriate patina. These are vintage, not new, so will have signs of use. Please see photos. Circa 1980-1990’s.
Dramatic, bold, unique, and extraordinary…just a few words we can think of to describe this impressive set of bench/table and mirror. Their style is a gorgeous art deco revival but can have a little Hollywood Regency flair. They are comprised of tessellated marble in a creamy off-white with jet black detail. The highlights of this table or bench are its incredible scrolled legs, which are reminiscent of an Ionic Roman column, and the marble tessellation in the shape of banana palm fronds. It is nothing short of spectacular. And then you are presented with its matching incredible wall mirror which is framed by the same creamy off-white and black tessellated marble banana palm fronds that surrounding the mirror glass…. GORGEOUS!!!!! Making the pair simply breathtaking! Although unmarked, this set is like designs by Maitland Smith or Oggetti Designs; however, our research has not revealed the exact piece, but it is made with the same high quality and attention to detail. Plus, its versatility is awesome. There are so many ways to utilize this amazing set…you could use it as a low table and dress it with a large floral arrangement maybe a sculpture or it would be a fabulous bench with a couple of throw pillows against a wall, and the mirror hanging above. Of course, they do not have to stay together. Split them up and use the table/bench as your coffee table then hang the mirror in the hall. This pair is also perfect for a fitting room in a boutique or a dressing bench...

Handsome Mid-Century Modern love seat length sofa in black vinyl faux leather upholstery and walnut base in the style of Wormley for Dunbar or Harvey Probber. It is in wonderful vintage condition. We believe the black vinyl to be fairly new. The walnut base does have age appropriate little nicks and dings. Please see photos, circa 1960s.
It is hard to say who designed and produced this fabulously gorgeous and simple streamline Mid-Century Modern style sofa first. Was is Edward Wormley for Dunbar? Was it Harvey Probber or Florence Knoll? Or, did Taylor Chair Company, the maker of this particular love seat, actually make their rendition first? Does it matter? You will love the lines and materials used in this two-seat love seat Lawson shape sofa with a tight back and two loose seat cushions. It is covered in a very nice and natural looking black faux leather vinyl. So close to the real thing its is hard to tell the difference. And sets on a walnut Parsons’ style base. Simple but very handsome.
